Your New Role…

As a Staff Product Designer, Accessibility, you are a member of the world-class CNN Digital Product Design Team, which is responsible for creating industry-leading new experiences consumed by millions of audiences across the globe.
You will be a member of the Vossi Design System team, which is responsible for building and maintaining CNN's multi-platform design system. Vossi is young and in hyper-growth mode. This is an incredible opportunity to join at ground level, to envision and implement a world-class, scalable design system.
The Staff Product Designer, Accessibility is an experienced designer who enjoys collaborating with product, engineering, research, editorial, analytics, content strategy and other designers to build and grow a reusable library that supports speed and innovation towards a stellar end user experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact the entirety of CNN's digital experience, and at the same time impact CNN's bottom line.

Your Role Accountabilities…
• Be an integral part of the team that owns a world-class design system and help steer the growth and execution of the program
• Lead the design process for digital products, with a primary focus on ensuring adherence to latest WCAG accessibility standards.
• Spearhead initiatives to integrate accessibility best practices into all aspects of the product development process and the design workflow (from ideation to implementation).
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (product and UI designers, product managers, content designers, engineers, and user researchers) to champion accessibility and inclusive design principles.
• Drive the development of design systems and components that prioritize accessibility, usability, and scalability.
• Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits and assessments of existing products, identifying areas for improvement and leading the implementation of solutions.
• Establish and maintain accessibility guidelines, patterns, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance across projects.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to design team members on accessibility standards, techniques, and tools.
• Act as a subject matter expert on accessibility, staying abreast of industry trends, standards, and regulations.
• Work with design leadership to advocate for accessibility within the organization and foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity in design.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including accessibility consultants and user advocacy groups, to continuously improve accessibility practices.

Qualifications
& Experience…
• 8+ years as a product designer, with at least 2 in recent design systems and accessibility work
• A mastery of Figma
• Expertise in WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards and a proven track record of designing products that meet or exceed these standards.
• Knowledge of disability law such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
• Accessibility compliance experience with web and native experiences
• While not required, experience with assistive technologies like VoiceOver, NVDA screen reader, ZoomText or JAWS is a plus.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with stellar collaboration abilities
• Mastery and able to guide on user experience design, including usability principles, user research methodology, testing techniques (A/B, Multi-Variant), design theory, interaction design, and accessibility audits
• Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
• Willingness to roll up your sleeve and get things done.

The Legal Bits…
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $129,500.00 - $240,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
