Salesforce Accessibility Compliance Program Manager

As a compliance program manager on the Accessibility team, you will be responsible for running our ongoing VPAT compliance program. This is a critical part of our development process whereby you will be providing oversight for ongoing compliance audits and reports that demonstrate our full product portfolio conforms to industry web standards for accessibility.

You will also be responsible for managing customer enquiries regarding product accessibility compliance. This role has a global scope, since we have customers around the world.

In this role, you will be working across our organization - with Salesforce’s world class product accessibility team, numerous product teams, as well as our sales, customer success, legal and compliance departments. You will be directly contributingtowards two of Salesforce’s core values - Equality and Trust.

Responsibilities

Oversee our third-party VPAT compliance program which measures our product accessibility relative to WCAG 2.0 AA, and share status with our customers. This entails managing the relationship with external auditors, coordinating with internal product teams, and budgeting.

Evaluate new and evolving regulations and standards, including Section 508, EN 301 549, Canadian regulations, and WCAG.

Translate regulatory requirements to internal business partners and drive alignment on compliance requirements.

Manage our process around responding to customer requests regarding product accessibility compliance.

Spearhead continuous scaling and improvement of all the processes associated with compliance - including scheduling, execution, coordination with product teams, and communication to customers.

Organize regular quality assessment of 3rd party vendors.

Build strong relationships with business partners (Information Security/Security, Internal IT, Legal, Engineering, and Products team) and facilitate continuous improvement aligned with operational processes.

Effectively communicate program execution status, key accomplishments, and risks to leadership across Salesforce.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills to ensure they are set up for success:

Significant experience in establishing, running, and improving compliance programs at scale, preferably in a large organization. Able to create and maintain relationships with business and technical experts through the company who provide expertise in compliance and security requirements

Expertise in industry and governmental standards and policy relating to web accessibility standards around the world

Excellent organizing skills. You have a strong eye for detail.

Great communicator. In particular, you should excel at explaining compliance requirements to diverse audiences (across varying technical and business backgrounds) in a way that fosters understanding and ownership

Able to produce results independently

Able to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, agile environment

Strong technical background

Bonus Skills which will help you hit the ground running:

Skilled in the assessment of products relative to W3C WCAG 2.0 AA.

Experience in using assistive technology, in particular the NVDA and JAWS screen readers on Windows

Experience with accessible web or mobile development and testing

Experience with Salesforce products
