This role will report directly to the Head of Accessibility and will be empowered to drive change internally and externally.

Responsibilities

Help implement GitHub's accessibility vision by driving accountability at scale through building the operations, compliance processes and reporting to track and communicate progress.
Build collaborative relationships with internal and external GitHub stakeholders and with the accessibility team at Microsoft, to identify additional opportunities to make GitHub the home for all developers and to maximize GitHub's contribution to bridging the disability divide
Internally, partner with product teams, designers, engineers, HR, IT, events staff, and other organizations to set and measure progress against commitments.
Champion an accessible and inclusive employee experience in all GitHub locations across the globe.
Leverage our employee groups and developer communities to drive innovation in accessibility and create listening systems for these communities.
Externally, partner across open source communities, disability communities, and other stakeholders to identify and maximize opportunities for impact.
Evolve and grow accessibility.github.com to share our progress and satisfy the information needs of external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience driving programs or initiatives across organizational boundaries in a large organization.
3+ years of relevant experience with a proven track record of driving accessibility improvements on a cross-functional software development or technology team
Experience evaluating the conformance of web content against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines using axe DevTools, WAVE, Accessibility Insights, or similar tools as well as manual testing using JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience coding in Java Script or Python is preferred
Experience leveraging AI in driving accessibility innovations is preferred
Experience collecting and interpreting data for performance metrics and compliance is preferred
Ability to flourish, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills is preferred
Understanding of product road mapping and experience working with product and engineering teams to embed new features into roadmap plans is preferred

Minimum salary of $89,200 to maximum $236,600

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.

Salary Range: $89200 - $236600
