We are seeking an individual with application development experience coupled with in-depth knowledge of accessibility standards, assistive technology end user tools expertise, and a thorough understanding of how to apply them within application development project delivery efforts. The role will primarily serve as a consultant to UX, Development, and QA teams as we support technical project delivery efforts.

Some of a successful candidate’s responsibilities include:
Analysis of UX designs (i.e. wireframes) and annotation of accessibility requirements for use by development teams
Consult with developers to provide code level guidance for accessibility implementation and convey customer experience as realized through the various AT tools
Consult with QA testers regarding accessibility testing practices and defect validation/severity grading
General training of above technical teams regarding accessibility implementation
Participation in team accessibility standards and technical reference collateral updates, process improvement efforts, and other contribution
Evangelize accessibility across the organization
Required Skills/ Qualifications
Detailed knowledge of WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA requirements, ARIA standards, and other industry guidelines related to technology development for accessibility
Expert level experience with industry leading AT applications and functionality such as: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, and others
Strong application design, development, and testing experience (Desktop/RWD/Mobile)
Full understanding of various SDLC methodologies from Waterfall through Agile programming practices
Exceptional written/verbal communication and organizational skills
Detail oriented, ability to multitask, adapt to change, and effectively prioritize work to meet competing deadlines
Creative self-starter who brings challenges to light along with proposed solutions and is able to balance line of business needs with that of our disabled customers
Ability to explain technical information to a nontechnical audience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate the complexities of Accessibility to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Maintain professionalism with internal and external stakeholders at all times

Career Experience & Educational Requirements:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
+3 years web/mobile platform application development delivery experience employing ADA/WCAG standards
Preferred Skills/ Experience
Desired Certification: IAAP, WAS, CPACC or other accessibility certification(s)
Prior experience training developers and QA testers on the execution of accessibility methods and practices
