As a Technical Program Manager for Facebook’s Central Accessibility Team, you will lead efforts to extend Facebook’s value to people with disabilities. You will set up and execute programs aimed at making our products more inclusive to people with disabilities by empowering product teams to build, test and launch features that are accessible. You will work closely with design/research, engineering product leads, QA, operations, and many other cross-functional partners to help build support for the accessibility program and provide guidance and domain expertise to various teams. You will also work closely with design system and frameworks teams, as well as engineering teams, to improve systems-level support for Accessibility and drive engineering investments to enable step-change improvements in our ability to build and scale accessible products.


Technical Program Manager - Accessibility Responsibilities:
Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery
Drive internal process improvements across teams, remove roadblocks, and deliver on high-impact projects with a focus on inclusion, efficiency, performance, and quality
Help drive product and tooling decisions to align with higher company initiatives. Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases
Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks
Manage cross-functional product accessibility development programs in a matrix organization covering a range of teams and tools
Develop robust engineering accountability measurements, maintaining high quality engineering work
Assess business impact, prioritize initiatives and drive accountability in a fast-paced environment through project planning and strong interpersonal skills
Build Accessibility subject matter expertise and stay up-to-date on assistive technology, native platform accessibility and other technological developments
Communicate project status to stakeholders and various key teams around the organization



Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience
Experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery
Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope
Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership
Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products
Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience
Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems
Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones



Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years of experience working on Accessibility programs or products
Technical knowledge of the use of ARIA, and the Accessibility APIs on iOS and Android
Technical knowledge of the use of Assistive Technologies for web, iOS and Android
Experience participating in disability communities
Experience leading or working in Accessibility industry partnership programs, standards development, or other working groups
Excellent training and mentoring skills
Knowledge of accessibility design and engineering best practices including WCAG guidelines
Knowledge of disabled-user needs and experience gathering requirements and defining solutions
Proven experience creating and deploying tech programs or products from inception to delivery
Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and time-zones, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership
Strong communication skills and experience working with senior leadership and technical management teams to define and develop systems, solutions, and products
Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems
