Position Overview

The Communications Specialist Sr position within PNC’s Digital organization will support web accessibility of customer account servicing documents. This support includes creating business and technology requirements and interfacing with partners from multiple areas. Successful candidates will have careful attention to detail and the ability to support multiple projects.

Digital’s Written Communications team is responsible for customer servicing communications through the entire life cycle of a customer's account - from open to close.

This includes:

Brand and servicing standards for customer communications, with guidelines around plain language, accessibility, brand voice and style
System-generated communications from the Written Communications (WC) technology platform, which centralizes the creation and management of servicing communications. We create content for communications and work with technology (5 Agile crews) to connect new source systems to WC, create new communications templates and update existing sources / templates.
One-time servicing communications that support incident management, product changes and remediations. We create content for these communications and manually generate print-ready files of customer communications.
Content for digital experiences, including account opening

This position will focus on creating web accessibility technology and business requirements to support the goal of making all customer facing digital documents web accessible.

A successful candidate will be detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and document groups simultaneously. They will have a willingness to learn and follow guidelines/best practices. Writing experience and familiarity with accessibility principles is preferred, but not necessary.

Job Description

Designs, develops, produces and consults on a variety of internal and external communications.
Plans, researches, and develops of content for increasingly complex communications initiatives.
Identifies issues and opportunities, consults with organization on all aspects of communication, and engages other parts of the organization to ensure strategic alignment, clarity, and accuracy of message.
Coordinates final review and approval before internal or external communications are released.
Participates on project teams, influences outcomes, and evaluates success as appropriate.
Compiles, prepares, and synthesizes communications data for management review.

Media Channel Management – Knowledge of different media channels (e.g. TV, radio, press, etc.); ability to evaluate and select the most preferable media outlets to ensure information is effectively delivered to target audiences.

Organizational Communications – Knowledge of and ability to utilize the means, tools, techniques and media to communicate information about the organization internally and externally.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic – Ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
