*About the role
Fable is looking for an Accessibility Specialist who is responsible for identifying issues through quality assurance and usability testing in relation to WCAG standards as well as compliance with accessibility-related laws. This role involves regularly engaging with people with disabilities and requires a candidate who is sensitive, respectful and who has the ability to tailor their processes to meet individuals requirements.

*Key responsibilities

Conduct quality assurance and usability evaluations for Fable’s customers' digital products including websites, web apps, mobile apps and software.
Evaluate digital products according to assistive technology requirements and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
Conduct periodic automated and usability audits for Fable’s customers' critical task flows.
Conduct interviews and user acceptance testing with people with disabilities
Record problems/defects identified during testing.
Collaborate with customer’s project managers and developers to scope audit and testing requirements
Develop and maintain standard templates for testing applications
Create and execute accessibility test plans and test scenarios
Communicate the status of testing, including reporting of overall test results.*

After customers resolve the bugs, support with re-testing and validation
May require to create/maintain automated test scripts.
Maintain updated resource materials for ongoing accessibility requirements
Skills and Qualifications

Highly proficient and knowledgeable with web accessibility, WCAG and/or user research
Experience with assistive technologies or facilitating testing with assistive technology users
Skilled in management and execution of audits and test cases
Strong diagnostic, testing and problem-solving skills
Strong analytical, communication and team skills
Ability to communicate to a wide range of project stakeholders including executives, managers, designers and developers
Compassionate and patient demeanour with confidence and assertion to get things done
Active listening and problem-solving skills
Ability to build relationships and connect with people quickly
Organized and able to manage a large volume of tasks independently
Confidence to manage difficult situations and conversations
Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate apps and software
You must be:

Highly proficient with accessibility: Knowledgeable in WCAG and experience with assistive technology or engaging with assistive technology users.
Passionate: You love helping people, especially to solve problems.
Creative and adaptable: You’ll jump in and flex your various skills whenever necessary.
A self-starter: You’re looking for your newest challenge, ready to join a fun and fast-paced team!
Experience: 3+ years in accessibility-related roles
Nice to have

Candidates that have credentials like IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) or an equivalent.
Candidates with quality assurance or research experience
