Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, offering over 200 fully featured services from data centers globally. The AWS UXP2 team is responsible for user experience of products that enable customers to manage their applications and infrastructure on AWS. Today, the team is responsible for multiple products such as AWS Web-Based Management Console, AWS Console Mobile App, AWS Chatbot, as well as the platform services used by 200+ AWS service teams to develop and deliver their user experiences.

As an Accessibility Specialist with AWS UXP2, you will provide accessibility guidance to internal teams, deliver training, and conduct usability testing of our products, services, and websites.

Key job responsibilities
* Manage a team of subject matter experts (SMEs) and champion our principles of accessibility and inclusion
* Collaborate across teams to develop existing and future accessibility initiatives across AWS
* Provide accessibility expertise and innovate on behalf of our customers
* Work across the entire company to build accessible products at AWS and ensure it aligns with our business goals.
* Influence stakeholders across AWS, communicate changes, issues, and resolutions clearly to all stakeholders.
* Establish aggressive, achievable schedules for delivery and execute on them
* Implement process improvements for both your own and partner teams
* Drive and facilitate innovation within the team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years management experience
3+ years of non-internship professional experience as an accessibility specialist or similar role
In-depth understanding of accessibility standards and best practices including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and ARIA
Experience with assistive technology (e.g., screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice recognition) in conducting accessibility testing.
Knowledge of accessibility legislation such as the Section 508 and the European Accessibility Act (EAA).
Experience with assistive technology and working with people with disabilities
Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills
Bachelor’s degree psychology, computer engineering, or a related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience collaborating across teams to build accessible, websites and complex software systems
Ability to influence diverse teams in accessibility and inclusive design
IAAP CPACC certification
