Functional Sys Analyst IV - Test Lead

Under the supervision of the Application Development Test Analyst Manager, the Test Lead develops testing strategy, writes test plans, and audits manual/automated test scripts to perform system, and regression, Oversees the development of Acceptance Criteria .

Audits and enters defects into the ticket tracking system and generate reports for analysis.
Analyzes user requirements and business processes to generate a test plan and strategy within the operational timeline.

Using test tools, designs, develops test scripts, performs trouble shooting, and problem solving related to system functionalities and data.

Performs and assist with testing against WCAG 2.1 AA Criteria

Ensures all supported systems are uniform, and that they comply with departmental and state IT architecture policy and standards, especially those related to the Software Development Life Cycle. Works under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs other duties as assigned.



Essential Job Functions:
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

(40%) Participates in system development activities (i.e.: analysis, design, develop, implement) to meet business needs if appropriate products or services cannot be more cost effectively purchased or identified within DFPS. Analyzes business process requirements and prepares detailed structured data flow analysis diagrams, verification of procedures, and database entity relationship diagrams to satisfy new software demands of the State Agency automated systems operations. Develops and maintains functional and technical specifications via the preparation of detailed flowcharts, tables, reports and other descriptive materials necessary for coding, testing and documenting complex automated systems

(35%) Responsible for coding, testing, and supporting highly complex applications to meet customer needs. Rigorous testing includes coordination with the technical support staff for integration testing to ensure quality products before distribution. Product support includes analyzing production problems as described by the customer, systems analyst, and/or customer support staff and problem solving to keep the customers operational as well as ongoing maintenance and enhancements to both software and hardware. Ensures that the system or product is successfully installed and that customers are adequately trained in their use. Assists in the successful implementation of new software systems.

(15%) Evaluating existing and proposed computer applications to verify business requirements, system requirements, and equipment configurations are taken into account. Analyzes complex business processes, equipment, and techniques for applicability, reliability, efficiency, speed, cost, flexibility, and meeting customer needs. These duties include coordinating applications interfaces with other Sections within the Department as well as between State Agencies with the coordination of management.

(5%) Uses initiative and independent judgement on an on-going basis to identify needs and opportunities in the development of plans and budgets that describe the objectives and the resources required to meet these needs and objectives. Provides solution to difficult problems and guidance to less experienced coworkers.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies.
Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall Methodologies.
Knowledge of high-level system design methodologies and techniques such as the entity/relationship model and data/process flow diagrams.
Knowledge of programming client/server applications to include SQL.
Knowledge of object-oriented programming.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques.
Skill in Strategy\Testing\Methodologies.
Knowledge of test automation tools (i.e. Selenium).
Experience testing A11Y tools JAWS, Sort site, and Wave.
Skill in troubleshooting computer systems and solving complex problems.
Skill in communicating both verbally and in writing with customers and peers.
Ability to write detailed test plans.
Ability to identify and analyze complex business problems and define user needs.
Ability to process information logically and perform detailed work accurately.
Ability to conduct short and long range project planning and to meet project schedules with minimal supervision.

Registration or Licensure Requirements:


Initial Selection Criteria:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, information systems, computer engineering or a related field.
Related work experience may substitute for the required education.
Experience writing test plans and developing test scripts.


Additional Information:
This position is classified as a fulltime position (40 hours a week). Work outside of regular hours may be required. Travel to other work location may be required.
