Job Description
Every day, hundreds of thousands of customers visit Amazon to discover, research, and buy products. The Consumer Experience organization is behind making Amazon the best shopping experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile apps and web for all our customers. The Retail Accessibility team is dedicated to enhancing the shopping experience for customers with disabilities and is looking for an experienced front end engineer to drive innovation and usability enhancements with the aim of making shopping at Amazon a delightfully accessible experience.
As a Sr. Frontend Engineer, you will be the technical leader developing internal accessibility tooling as well as building exceptional front-end experiences that conform to accessibility standards. You will work closely with a talented team of engineers, product managers, and UX designers to identify and deliver solutions that simplify the shopping experience for disabled customers. You may create prototypes to demonstrate to others the feasibility of solutions and them to production level code. You will bring your experience to drive team best practices and operational excellence of the services owned by your team.


Basic Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor in Computer Science or related field.
Strong Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving
Skilled in developing rich applications with HTML, CSS, JS
Proficiency in developing front-end software, with deep experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Thyme Leaf etc.),UI Test Automation frameworks, MVC frameworks, Struts or Spring desired
Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices.



Preferred Qualifications

Experience with WCAG 2.0 and ARIA implementation and accessibility best practices
6+ months of experience as a full time software engineer.
Understand how to optimize resource usage for efficiency (e.g., application impact on memory and CPU, caches appropriately)
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
