The Amazon People Engine Experience Design (XD) team is looking for an Accessibility Technical Program Manager with a passion for improving the customer experience and driving high-visibility programs that will impact product designs used by millions of people. The XD team is seeking a talented and experienced Accessibility Technical Program Manager who can help lead accessibility efforts across Amazon People Engine. You will participate in Design reviews/consultations and accessibility auditing for products, to ensure the high-quality bar of our products. You will provide resources and support to meet internal accessibility guidelines, prioritize products for accessibility reviews and enhancements, identify defects and systemic pain points, and partner with product and tech teams to make improvements.

As an Accessibility Technical Program Manager on the XD team, you will work with global teams to develop and implement strategies to improve accessibility across the employee lifecycle. You will dive deep to understand the customer journey, identify accessibility gaps and opportunities for innovation, and influence product and tech owners to solve and implement changes.

As the Accessibility Technical Program Manager you will:

Consult on accessibility best practices.
Assist in conducting accessibility audits of designs, drawing attention to accessibility issues.
Build mechanisms to engage customers of all abilities in the product development cycle.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to accessibility and disability inclusion.
Define success metrics and validate the impact of solutions.
Manage multiple programs, partnering with stakeholders.
Support ongoing efforts to enhance our capabilities through training, development, playbooks, and program improvements.
Present to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
Have a strong bias for action and an ability to deal with great ambiguity.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of experience in accessibility as an Accessibility Technical Program Manager or consultant
3+ years of experience working with assistive technology, such as screen readers, magnification software, switch control devices, text to speech, etc.
3+ years of experience advocating on behalf of customers with disabilities
Advanced knowledge of accessibility standards, such as WCAG, ARIA, etc.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, UX Research, Information Systems Management, or other related fields
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to understand and communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
Ability to identify and help solve accessibility-specific technical issues and concerns.
Experience launching new software features across a variety of surfaces and platforms.
Familiarity with UX design and processes.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills - ability to interface with all levels of the organization, specific strength in influencing decision makers and managing expectations.
