Description
At Nomensa, we believe that making websites accessible for all is a basic human right, not just a legal requirement. Founded in 2001, we design outstanding, accessible digital experiences for an impressive roster of instantly recognisable clients. We have a long heritage in strategic UX design thinking and as members of W3C we help shape the global best practice accessibility guidelines, and directly contribute to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

What you’ll be doing

Accessibility practitioners at Nomensa work to a world class standard of web accessibility, and you’ll be working closely with skilled practitioners and leaders in the field, including Alastair Campbell who is co-editor of WCAG, and Al Duggin, former Head of Accessibility at the Government Digital Service.

As Principal Accessibility Consultant at Nomensa you will be put to work on a variety of projects, from audits, training and consulting, helping to grow our accessibility services and strategic capability. You’ll provide practitioner leadership to ensure our clients feel more equipped to make the necessary changes to make their services as accessible as possible.  Client-side, you will lead workshops and training sessions, as well as inspiring our clients and supporting their change agendas in respect of accessibility. Internally, you will help us to refine our accessibility services for clients and influence the services we provide.

Collaboration is a given at Nomensa, so you'll work closely with colleagues across business development, client services, and studio to identify opportunities and promote Nomensa’s capabilities in the accessibility space and support the growth of key clients and accounts for commercial success. You'll also have the opportunity to share your skills, knowledge and experience through mentoring and training in all things accessibility.

Nomensa work across a wide range of sectors, commercial, not for profit, and in partnership with government departments. You’ll get variety and plenty of opportunities to make high profile and essential services more inclusive. As a Principal, you’ll maintain close client relationships with potential to inform the direction of really exciting programmes of work, and help raise accessibility capability across roles and teams.

Why you'll love Nomensa

Our people love working here, it’s a supportive working environment where you can expect to work with, and learn from, teams of highly collaborative, skilled practitioners, and we are one of the few companies within the UK to achieve gold standard accreditation by Investors in People. We are committed to giving our people a supportive platform for ongoing career development, and you’ll have excellent variety of projects to work on for well known clients in the commercial, charity, and government sectors.

We work hard at creating an exciting, collaborative environment where we have one focus: humanising technology. The people you will be working with are passionate, have a relentless pursuit of excellence and take pride in their work. If this sounds like it would be a good fit with your own values and ethos, then we would love to hear from you.
