About the Analytics SDET Team
The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) team for Workday Analytics is a diverse group of engineers. We spend our time writing software to break software and increase development productivity. At the core, we are responsible for the quality of the software that we ship, and we take pride in doing so. We build and scale our test infrastructure to match the growth of our product, keeping them fast, reliable and robust automated tests. We use proprietary and open-source automated testing tools to support our rapid and continuous development/test/deployment release cycles.

About the Role

Welcome to Workday Analytics Spark SDET team! At Workday, we apply our specific custom features on top of the Spark community version like data privacy with Spark Query Plans and Dataframe Schema Obfuscation, benchmark module with standard TPCH and custom queries to name a few.
This position requires you to wear multiple hats. It is about understanding cloud-based distributed systems, big data wrangling, tooling development, test framework, data processing performance with the focus on breaking the system before our customer does. You will build a more reliable & robust test automation and infrastructure to test cloud-based data from a variety of sources.

About You

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

3+ years’ professional experience as a SDET with strong object-oriented design and coding skills

3+ years’ experience in designing & developing test infrastructure and tool development in Python, Scala, or Java

Familiar with Section 508 and W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and have experience implementing them in enterprise codebases.
Other Qualifications

Strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills to convert functional requirement into technical task

Experience in CI/CD tools like bamboo or Jenkins and code revision tool like GIT

Experience in Hadoop, database/SQL/PL-SQL, cloud based ETL pipeline, and Amazon AWS

Experience in Unix/Linux environment and scripting

Experience with Robot/JUnit/ScalaTest framework and POSTMAN API testing

3+ years experience in test development for large scale data processing pipeline and distributed systems

Ability to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems and think abstractly that leads to a solution
