Coordinator of Student Accessibility Resources

Reporting to the Director of Student accessibility Resources or other assigned campus leader, the Coordinator of Student Accessibility Resources is responsible for providing general disability management, advising, and support to students with disabilities by ensuring accessibility to all TCC programs and services. This position serves as a liaison between faculty, staff, and students with special needs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements*
Evaluates students' documentation to establish eligibility for departmental services; meets with active and prospective students to discuss reasonable and effective use of accommodations
Educates students in self-advocacy to help implement reasonable accommodations; promotes awareness of the department's services; develops and maintains knowledge of disability law practices and issues related to ADA and Section 504 compliance
Adheres to policies and procedures to guide provision of academic accommodations and services to disabled students; provides feedback to Director regarding revisions and implementation
Acts as a liaison between students, faculty, and rehabilitation agencies, which involves monitoring disabled students progress at TCC
Gathers and reports data for annual reports and special studies
General Supervision and Management
Hires, trains, coordinates, and supervises staff to maintain ADA and Section 504 compliance
Service Excellence
Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Director of Student Accessibility Resources or other assigned campus leader
