Minimum Qualifications

Relevant Associate’s degree from two-year college or technical school**Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college· accredited by a United States Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACS.**

At least one year of higher education experience supporting online and blended courses

Experience working and implementing Section 508 Standards and Web Content
Accessibility Guideline (WCAG)

Experience using learning management systems. Possess a strong commitment to customer service
Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Preferred Qualifications

Completed the Applying the Quality Matters Rubric Training (APPQMR)
Position Description

nder the supervision of the Instructional Designer (Learning Management Lead), the Online Course Accessibility Specialist will keep abreast of Web accessibility for online course design, collect information on the use of Blackboard by instructors, and ensure students are able to use learning management systems successfully.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Model an understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy and mission.

Apply the elements of the College’s Core Values in a way that promotes a professionalism, respect, and a positive working attitude.

Use a rubric to evaluate Web accessibility within areas where Blackboard Ally is ineffective Educate on the use of tools within the platform.

Collect data on the instructor use of Blackboard in face-to-face, online, and hybrid classes

Determine course design consistency in online course designs from course to course

Collaborate with faculty to offer any form LMS orientation in the classroom.
Tutor faculty on the functional use of Blackboard and Blackboard Ally

Provide Blackboard, Odigia, and Canvas training for students on main campus and off-campus centers

Language Skills:

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situation.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in written, oral, schedule, or diagram form and deal with multiple concurrent abstract and concrete variables.
