Costco is looking for an experienced Digital Accessibility Analyst to join the IT eCommerce User Experience (UX) team. The Digital Accessibility Analyst is responsible for ensuring eCommerce web properties meet the W3C’s WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards as well as accessibility related laws globally. The ideal candidate will be an empathetic and collaborative problem-solver who communicates effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders who is committed to delivering accessible websites and apps for all Costco business areas.

ROLE

Manages and schedules ongoing audits for all Costco websites and mobile applications assessing accessibility compliance.
Manages, analyzes, and responds to all accessibility audits with external accessibility suppliers.
Tracks, reports, and assists eCommerce project/product teams (user experience, business requirements, development, testing, and business content).
Tracks, reports, and assists eCommerce business working with third parties in resolving accessibility issues/findings for all digital properties.
Communicates findings to leadership teams (IT and business); holds teams accountable for established practices; supports established compliance guidelines.
Establishes ongoing mandatory accessibility training for eCommerce teams (User experience, business requirements, development and testing, and business content).
Creates and maintains Accessibility Best Practices documentation to host audit findings, remediation plans, best practices, and recommendations. Documents training materials, tutorials, relevant accessibility links, third-party sites, and integrations accessibility standards and governance.

REQUIRED

Minimum 2 years’ accessibility experience with analysis and design in a digital enterprise environment.
Knowledge of accessibility standards, specifically the WCAG 2.1 AA.
Experience with assistive technology (e.g. screen readers, magnifiers, alternative input, etc.) for desktop and mobile.
Demonstrated proficiency with selecting appropriate UI patterns and applying user-centered design (UCD) methodologies to effectively solve accessibility design problems.
Strong understanding of responsive web design principles, techniques, and frameworks.
Experience with front-end development technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
Excellent task management and organizational skills with ability to work collaboratively with multiple groups or self-directed as needed.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills to clearly communicate assistive technology needs and design decisions to multiple stakeholder groups.
Strategic thinker; ability to act tactically and solve problems quickly.
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

Recommended

Bachelor's degree in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or a related field.
Certification in Accessibility is a plus.
Knowledge of react, single page accessibility patterns and mobile accessibility.
Familiarity with Websphere and hybris/SAP eCommerce platforms.
Working knowledge of Figma.
