The Global Digital Accessibility Manager will help plan, drive, and manage the Accessibility program across EY Technology. The Manager will infuse accessibility throughout the enterprise, extending to our people, clients, candidates, and the marketplace. The manager will represent EY externally by sharing practices in established forums, regularly collaborating with clients, and serving as key contact and SME for engagement teams.


The opportunity


The role empowers the Manager to articulate and direct the strategic direction and implementation planning for EY Technology accessibility program including policy, methodology, procurement, and training. The Manager also has a critical role in evangelizing and promoting accessibility knowledge across the firm; and helping make digital accessibility a core value that is embedded in every aspect of the business.


Your key responsibilities


The Accessibility Manager will:


Report to the Global Digital Accessibility leader and collaborate to plan, drive, and manage the Digital Accessibility program across the firm.
Collaborate with leaders in DEI, Branding Marketing Comms (BMC), Learning, Talent, and Procurement to help make belonging real for EY people of all abilities.
Enhance individual and team productivity by enabling EY professionals with disabilities to access digital content easily and efficiently.
Help build the EY brand as a leader in technology, inclusion, and innovation.
Support broader and deeper client connection through regular sharing and collaboration around the accessibility agenda.
Generate revenue by delivering digital accessibility services to clients.
Advise the firm on efforts to influence government policies, regulations, and standards


Skills and attributes for success


The role requires strong analytical acumen, solution orientation, and an ability to effectively collaborate across functions, service lines and geographies, using influence and strategic thinking to drive both incremental and permanent change. The Manager must apply advanced critical thinking skills to understand the current state, develop practical, realistic short and long-term goals and drive process solutions that progressively enhance EY’s maturity in IT accessibility. The Manager must be intellectually curious, well informed, and forward thinking to keep ahead of IT developments and ensure accessibility implications are considered early and at the highest levels.


To qualify for the role, you must have


Extensive knowledge and experience with web accessibility (WCAG, Section 508, EN 301 549) and understanding of accessibility issues related to accessible coding, web technologies, multimedia, documentation, and mobile environments.
Experience conducting accessibility audits, creating accessibility guidelines/ policies/ methodologies, and providing code-level remediation guidance to application development teams
Experience working within application development teams including close collaboration with developers, testers, designers, business analysts, project managers and business stakeholders
Education: Bachelor’s degree in related technology field (Computer, Engineering, Science, etc.) or comparable job experience. Master’s degree in related technology field preferred (Computer, Engineering, Science, etc.)
Experience: Approximately 15 + years of experience in the industry with at least 10 + years of management experience on Operational/Service Management role. Should be able to exhibit a progression of increasingly complex job responsibilities during the period inclusive of senior staff management. IAAP Certification preferred


Ideally, you’ll also have


Experience with agile, waterfall and hybrid application development methodologies
Knowledge of national and international disability laws and regulations
Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and ARIA and vendor technology platforms (Microsoft, SAP, Cisco, IBM, Oracle, etc.)
Experience with assistive technology hardware and software (including screen readers and speech-to-text systems)
