Job Overview
This position will support the work of the Office of Institutional Accessibility and specifically a team that focuses on accessibility solutions, primarily for individuals on campus who are d/Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, or visually impaired. The incumbent should be familiar with current market options for assistive technology and experienced in testing accessibility features of electronic and information technology, including websites and document remediation. Furthermore, preferred experience managing systems or processes for professional-level captioning as well as the equipment utilized to provide remote services.

Essential Functions
Provide direct support and training to UC faculty and college staff in developing accessible electronic/online educational materials.
Fulfill academic and employment accommodation requests that require the remediation of content to meet accessibility standards and/or work appropriately with accessible technology.
Support colleges and IT@UC in testing and implementing accessible third-party software used for teaching and learning, as well as technology that is used by students and employees in the classroom and for online course instruction.
Support the university EIT Coordinator to coordinate and facilitate compliance efforts pertaining to the EIT Accessibility
Policy and its supporting procedures and documentation.
Work collaboratively with Accessibility Resources staff in maintaining compliance with federal and state mandates and university policies and procedures regarding accommodation of students with disabilities.
Advocate for an inclusive and accessible campus environment for individuals with disabilities.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree
Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience
Experience in the application of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines or 508 requirements in education or related settings.

Additional Qualifications Considered
Certificate of completion of advanced training, or certification, in web/electronic accessibility testing.
Experience using accessible technology, including screen readers, voice-to-text software, etc.
Experience working with individuals who are blind, visually impaired, and/or mobility impaired.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
