The Opportunity

The Mozilla Corporation is looking for a skilled developer to work with our talented accessibility team to help drive web accessibility forward! This is a small, enthusiastic team that affects the lives of users every day that's looking for you to contribute to the accessibility of Firefox and other Mozilla products.
Using your front-end and accessibility expertise, you will shape Mozilla’s efforts to ensure that Firefox is delightfully accessible to people with disabilities.

What You'll Get To Do

Contribute front-end code to ensure that product features and common UI components are accessible and inclusive.
Collaborate with design and front-end teams to identify potential accessibility issues and drive resolutions.
Improve automated testing frameworks and seek other automation opportunities to detect accessibility issues before they land.
Maintain the Firefox Accessibility Developer Tools.
Build excellent working relationships with engineers on other teams.
Work in the open as part of the Mozilla open source project and engage with Mozilla’s global community.

Qualifications

A degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design.
Advanced skills in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Comfortable working on a large, mature code-base.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Ability to effectively participate as part of a geographically-distributed open development team.
A passion to empower and improve the web for people with a diverse range of abilities.

Bonus points for

Familiarity with React.
Experience with iOS and Android UI development.
Experience in C++ development.
Experience in working with standards body working groups.
Knowledge of ARIA and other web accessibility technology.
