Requirements
The role

You will be part of the Group Digital Experience and Digital Accessibility Team and our role is to make website HSBC’s digital platforms, products and services transactional platforms work for people with disabilities accessible.

As a Digital Accessibility manager your role will be to join the team focusing on HSBC internal platforms.

The role is based in London working a hybrid pattern.

How will you help our team to succeed in the next 12 months?

• Work with digital teams across globally Governance Managers and other Digital Accessibility Managers to support projects in meeting the HSBC Accessibility Standards and requirements of the Digital Accessibility program.
• Be responsible for providing accessibility support for digital projects including advising on vendor engagement processes, reviewing outputs such as audit reports and supporting teams in implementing findings and recommendations.
• Advise and support project teams on issues such as accessible design and UX, defect remediation, defect prioritisation and post-fix defect testing quality assurance
• Act as a subject matter expert on accessibility in relation to areas such as policy, compliance, regulation and risk when engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Engage with 3rd-party vendors to resolve project related issues and work collaboratively to improve overally ways-of-working.

Your skills and experience

The core skills and experiences needed for this role include:

• Deep understanding of industry best practices and standards related to digital accessibility including, but not limited to WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2.
• Practical knowledge and experience of all major assistive technologies, including but not limited to, JAWS, NVDA, TalkBack, VoiceOver and Dragon.
• A strong knowledge of front-end code (e.g.: HTML/CSS/JavaScript), mobile development technologies and accessibility specific technologies (e.g.: ARIA).
• Strong ability to communicate effectively and self-organise - clearly articulating and managing areas like risk, technical recommendations and regulatory requirements.
• A strong understanding of the behaviour and needs of disabled customers users in relation to digital products and services.
