Who We Are:
The Accessibility Center for Excellence (COE) has been established to set goals, drive progress, consult and partner with groups across our core business functions to help make ALL aspects of Twitter more accessible. This includes everything from accessibility in our office spaces, marketing and communications strategies, legal and policy standards, systems, training and more. The COE is led by the Head of Global Accessibility. Our mission is to create a culture that provides end to end inclusive experiences for our customers, brands, employees and candidates with disabilities. We are accomplishing this goal by going above and beyond the compliance requirements and integrating voices with lived experience in the experience development process. We are definitely towards the beginning of this journey and know that we have a long way to go, but we will keep going #UntilWeAllBelong.

What You'll Do:
As part of this team you’ll be using your knowledge of Accessibility and Disabilities to help integrate accessibility into Twitter’s products/processes. As an Accessibility consultant, you will partner with the Legal, Policy, IT, Procurement, Marketing and People teams to ensure new Twitter experiences are accessible. Your work will have a positive impact on the lives of our tweeps and customers with disabilities.

Deliver accessibility training and workshops for the program
Work with our Real Estate team and Universal Design consultants to build Accessibility playbooks for our physical spaces.
Partner with the People systems team to make sure all internal tools development is accessible.
Provide accessibility requirements for RFPs, review responses from vendors, compare accessibility statements with findings from accessibility testing, and provide recommendations on the final solution.
Review Supplier Accessibility questionnaires, vet supplier products for accessibility and work with Suppliers to prioritize accessibility issues and drive progress to improve accessibility for our tweeps.
Support marketing teams to review our campaigns for accessibility compliance.
Review designs/concepts early in the development process and provide Accessibility feedback.
Review/test a wide range of products, websites, tools, content, prototypes and materials to ensure compliance with legal requirements, Accessibility standards (WCAG) and common assistive technologies.
Document and communicate results and recommended improvements to ensure full accessibility.
Participate in the creation of processes, procedures, and documentation related to accessibility.
Contribute to the centralized hub of Accessibility resources enabling learning for tweeps
Keep track of customer/employee journeys and identify gaps in the customer/employee experience.
Help setup processes to report accessibility health based on data, feedback and user research
Produce audit reports and accessibility statements for our clients to support them in meeting accessibility standards
Stay up-to-date on technology and experience patterns in order to constantly be capable of communicating changes and updates to our approach to accessibility
Work with Career experience and Talent Acquisition teams to integrate Disability Inclusion into the employee lifecycle. Leverage data, community feedback, and learnings to develop a global skilling strategy for the disability community to maximize impact and program efficiencies in partnership with both internal and external stakeholders
Build clear, trackable annual goals to motivate change throughout the organization.
Act as an advocate for accessibility on projects and teams, including with clients.

Who You Are:

Experienced in crafting and providing effective and engaging Accessibility training programs
Experienced in evaluating, assessing, and resolving accessibility issues to wide-ranging types of facilities, programs, products and services
Experienced in content writing for Accessibility programs and sound knowledge of Inclusive language.
Experienced in facilitating the implementation of the policies and procedures related to federal and state disability laws regarding access for people with disabilities, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the ADA
Like to get stuff done, thrive in a collaborative environment that allows you to interact optimally with others!
Have a strong sense of ownership and a curiosity to understand how things work, even if they take you outside your area of expertise!
Have empathy for your users and are interested in understanding the human impact of your work across all cultures and walks of life.


Qualifications

B.S. or Masters in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience with 5+ years of related experience
Previous experience with accessibility standards and guidelines such as Apple Accessibility Guidelines, Android Accessibility Guidelines, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and ARIA techniques.
5+ years of practical experience of testing with multiple assistive technologies (e.g. braille displays, JAWS, ZOOM, Voiceover, Talkback, switch control devices, etc.).
Ability to conduct accessibility audits against WCAG 2.1 guidelines
Accessibility compliance experience
IAAP CPACC or WAS certification would be preferred.
