About the Role
The Workday Accessibility team is looking for a leader to help build out the platform and developer tools that enable the creation of accessible experiences (web and mobile) for all users. The team builds features, contributes to architecture decisions, defines best practices, and enables product quality.
In addition to bug fixing and product work, the Accessibility Engineering team is charged with upskilling the broader organization to enable our workmates to build more accessible products. This team follows the Shift Left philosophy, which entails moving accessibility considerations earlier in the software development lifecycle and automating as much as possible. The team also develops and manages tooling that enables all workmates to develop more accessible products.

Responsibilities:

Lead the team in building products and services to empower developers across Workday to create accessible experiences.
Shape the team’s work to align with company goals and to have the most impact on the bottom line. Identify new opportunities to support areas beyond product development such as sales, events, and M&A.
Attract, develop, and grow a high performing software engineering team.
Mentor team members and create stretch assignments to support their growth.
Collaborate with product managers, accessibility specialists, and customer-facing team to serve customers and build more accessible software.

About You
You are curious, have a background in technology and/or product development, have a track record of leading teams and projects, are interested in managing people, and have a passion for accessibility. You are a leader who prioritizes collaboration and building trusted relationships throughout the broader organization. You are dedicated to supporting the team and finding opportunities for the a11y engineers to grow and contribute. You are a big picture thinker who knows the secret to execution is ruthless prioritization.

Basic Qualifications:

3+ years professional experience in digital accessibility
2+ years’ experience as a people leader

Other Qualifications:

Sees the big picture and also focuses on execution
Proven track record of delivering production-quality products at scale
Background in software engineering - experience with accessibility projects a big plus!
Clear communication and storytelling skills, written and verbal
User interface design and/or development experience (web and/or mobile apps)
Familiarity with WCAG guidelines

Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The base pay range for the primary location of this job is listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Base Pay Min to Max Range: $169,600 - $254,400
