Web Platform Accessibility team

We’re looking for someone to lead accessibility engineering across the design system. As part of the design system team, you'll build usable, scalable, best-in-class components and a top-of-the-line charting library to power ServiceNow's new UI platform. We're serious about user experience. Our integrated team of engineers, designers, and product strategists sweat the details and we're seeing the results. The Now Design System is changing the way we create products—for thousands of designers and engineers inside our company and even more in our customers' offices.

What our team values:

Being humble and having each others’ backs
Learning new things and sharing expertise with each other—by answering a quick question on Slack, pairing on a feature, or leading a lunch and learn session
Producing high quality work we’re proud of, and not taking shortcuts
Having fun—we like to joke around, eat lunch together.
Leaving work at work, maintaining a sustainable pace (no big bangs, few big pushes)
What you get to do in this role:

Work with fellow engineers to build accessible web components; test components in different modalities (mouse, keyboard, screen readers); and debug tricky accessibility issues
Work closely with an accessibility-focused designer to establish accessible patterns to be used in the design system and across product teams
Scope and prioritize accessibility work in collaboration with PM, design, and QE
Work with the user research team and external customers to test new accessibility features and understand our users’ accessibility needs
Support colleagues across the product org with accessibility questions – e.g. content writers, app developers, UX designers
As a staff engineer, you’ll set the tone for our team and help mentor your teammates. You’ll have ownership over accessibility within the design system, and influence over the direction of accessibility in the entire product org
