Minimum Qualifications
Shall hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (preference to a degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.)
Minimum of two years of relevant experience
Knowledge of and experience interpreting and applying Federal Regulation 504, the Americans with Disability Act, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
(FERPA), and impact of these laws on accommodations for students
Shall demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills and problem-solving abilities
Shall have the ability to work in a complex organization in a fast-paced, student-centered office environment
Shall have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows-based computer application, and a command of technology including social media, and other online tools
Ability to maintain neutrality and work under stress
Demonstrate ability to collaborate with campus and students effectively
Job Duties and Other Information
Act as the lead coordinator for administering and proctoring examinations, ensuring that all aspects of the testing process are secure, confidential, and adherent to the protocol
Engage directly with students and faculty to facilitate exam scheduling and implementation of accommodation plans, ensuring an organized and equitable testing environment
Oversee the maintenance of the testing calendar
Manage the preparation and availability of accessible testing platforms, assistive technology, and required materials.
Train and supervise student employees or assistants involved in the testing process.
Administer tests as a reader or scribe when required and proctor remote exams as necessary.
Compile and prepare reports, evaluations, and surveys of program activities/services for students as required by the state, federal government, or Office of Civil Rights.
Assist with website updates, department social media platforms, and office databases.
Assists with inputting documentation, modifying, and ensuring accuracy of student files/accommodation plans as needed.
Assists with serving as a liaison with the director, disability services students, NSU community, and faculty/staff as needed.
Assistance with developing and delivering outreach events, presentations, and efforts.
Listen and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff regarding accommodation and test requests.
Promote a positive, student-centered, success-orientated atmosphere in the department and program.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Provide general office support, including calendar management, correspondence, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Organize and preserve records and databases to enhance the department's operational efficiency while tracking the utilization and eligibility of program participants.
Collaborate with university departments, faculty, and external vendors to secure appropriate accommodations and support student initiatives.
Promote disability support services through outreach efforts, facilitating a campus environment of inclusivity.
Guide students to campus support services and resources that align with their needs.
Participate in outreach activities to promote awareness, resources, and enhance academic success.
Salary Range: $21840 - $21840
