Digital Channels is part of the Strategy, Digital and Innovation (SDI) business division. Digital Channels serves consumer and small business customers through digital (online, mobile, and social) and contact centers (phone, e-mail, and correspondence). We provide customers with convenient ways to manage their accounts, enable digital payments, provide solutions that meet their financial needs, and more Digital Channels serves over 27 million customers through our digital channels and support over 5.8 billion customer interactions annually through digital and contact centers.

At Wells Fargo SDI Accessibility, we consult on simple, friendly digital experiences by being obsessed with what's most important to our customers, ensuring our designs can be used by people of all abilities.

SDI Digital Accessibility is seeking an experienced Assistive Technology Expert level user to join the team as a Digital Accessibility Consultant. The team is located in various locations such as Charlotte NC, San Francisco CA and Oakland CA.

The Digital Accessibility Consultant is the SDI Digital Accessibility SME on Accessibility requirements and AT (Assistive Technology) tools. This person will work in a highly collaborative environment, supporting design practitioners and scrum teams to deliver accessibility solutions throughout Agile lifecycles. This includes testing with Assistive Technologies or interpreting the test results of others (vendor).

This position will contribute to the writing of Wells Fargo Online Standards and Guidelines ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 A and AA success criteria.

What you'll be responsible for:
• • Passionate about developing accessible digital solutions and processes

Ensure that solutions for accessibility contribute to a positive user experience for all customers
Promote accessibility within the organization; advocate for considering accessibility as a vital part of the customer experience
Perform various tasks related to the governance of quality, compliant front-end code
Perform tasks to ensure delivery of accessible design and markup, such as:

o Visually conduct accessibility reviews of design assets provided by visual designers, interaction designers, and content strategists
o Define and document accessibility requirements for design deliverables and user stories
o Perform spot testing or heuristic reviews of coded deliverables, as needed
o Educate and inform project teams of end to end processes

Provide guidance for use of ARIA for web technologies such as HTML and mobile platforms
Ensure that solutions for accessibility contribute to a positive user experience for all customers
Help maintain tools and resources such as testing software and documented standards
Contribute to accessibility training of others

o Lead and present training sessions to internal and external audiences
o Develop and facilitate accessibility training and presentations

Plan and perform web accessibility testing with assistive technologies such as JAWS, VoiceOver, and ZoomText, with the understanding of their interactions with multiple browsers and platform combinations.
Assist in the management, planning, facilitation, and tracking of vendor accessibility testing engagements


Required Qualifications


6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: digital customer experience, digital product/program management, digital platforms, or digital consulting demonstrated through work or military experience
3+ years of experience in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, 2.1 or a combination of both


Desired Qualifications


Design consultation experience at the highest technical level: planning, integration, implementation, scalability, and problem definition
Agile experience
JIRA experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Financial services industry experience
Ability to operate effectively in a geographically dispersed organization
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques


Other Desired Qualifications


3+ years experience as part of an in-house development team or design agency consulting to Fortune 500 clients
Expert level user of various (at least one) assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, or TalkBack
Ability to convey issues to developers and technical partners verbally and in writing to include use of ARIA for web technologies such as HTML and mobile platforms
Proven ability to identifying creative approaches to accessibility challenges and problems
Front End Development experience, what is being designed and coded accessible.
International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) Certified
