Green Pixel Studios is an in-house user experience team charged with pushing the envelope on user experience design in digital. We are looking for someone who will work with our team of accessibility specialists, designers, digital project managers, and software engineers throughout the lifecycle of projects to ensure the successful delivery of accessible digital products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for A11y and inclusive design and thrive on creating useful and usable experiences for all.


Primary responsibilities:

Participate in the design process (collaborating with UX Designers) to advise on accessible design decisions and how they impact/satisfy acceptance criteria.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure front-end best practices through code recommendations and/or documentation.
Triage and prioritize accessibility issues and provide guidance for remediation.
Perform accessibility audits of web pages/sites using accessibility testing tools, assistive technology products and manual testing.
Identifying and suggesting potential solutions for accessibility barriers based on WCAG 2.1 standards
Recommend solutions to maintain compliance while creating accessible digital products for an excellent customer experience.
Use data on accessibility issues within products to identify, report on and drive improvements to the product features.
Coach and train design and developer colleagues.
Work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

4+ years of experience in driving accessibility in customer facing digital experiences.
2+ years of experience in assistive technologies and screen readers.
Deep understanding of WCAG success criteria and how to audit/test against them.
Experienced with Web Standards, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
Knowledgeable building accessible and inclusive interfaces.
Able to use axe DevTools, Accessibility Insights, and similar automated accessibility tools to effectively debug sites and enhance code quality.
Detailed knowledge of WCAG 2.1, WAI-ARIA and ATAG 2.0
Familiarity with automated ADA testing tools.

Ability to present to various stakeholders.
A broad understanding of web/mobile UI standards, usability, and practical experience in design and development of user interfaces for web and mobile applications.
Strong prioritization skills and ability to quickly re-prioritize in a dynamic environment, manage multiple projects at the same level of detail.
Experience with Agile Development preferred.
Some accessibility certifications preferred: IAAP Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) and/or Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).
Complementary skills such as QA, UX, design, user research, documentation.

Hours & Work Schedule


Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30 – 5:00
