Job Description
J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management Digital Marketing organization is seeking an experienced Accessibility Consultant to join our Demand Generation & Performance Analytics team.
The selected candidate will be able to utilize their knowledge and sensitivity to the access needs of people with disabilities. The ADA and accessibility role requires an analytical mind with the ability to take on the perspective of other people, including users of all ages and abilities, content writers, designers, web developers, application developers and product owners of digital assets.

A large percentage of the role’s primary focus will be on raising awareness, continuous training and quality assurance catered towards content and digital asset producers. This will be done in partnership with the Content, Demand Generation SEO practice leaders, the AWM Digital organization and the Head of UX. The collaborative nature of this role will ensure the continuous creation of content, design and accessible access to content, digital assets and enhanced search that delivers favorable results to both JP Morgan Asset and Wealth Management, its clients, customers and all consumers of its content and digital assets.

This role will report to the Head of SEO focusing on the following:

Develop JP Morgan AWM’s working practices, methodologies and tools
Continuous training of content producers, creative personnel and digital channel practitioners
Accessibility audits of web sites and digital assets, applications and third party sites and portals
Design audits and the scheduling of user tests, also leveraging monitoring and automated tools
Audit and test results, highlighting and implementing areas requiring action
Facilitation and observation of tests
Produce written recommendations for resolving accessibility issues.

While the appointed candidate will receive continuous training, mentoring and be part of the JP Morgan Chase ADA community and working groups, it will be essential that they have the desire and interest to continuously develop their skills in this area. The basic qualities needed to build on are inquisitiveness, open-mindedness, initiative, self-motivation and an ability to communicate in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

Broad knowledge of accessibility barriers as well as the tools and techniques for resolution
Knowledge of accessibility standards: WCAG 2.0, ADA Section 508, 21st Century Video and Communications Act. Knowledge of International laws is a plus
5+ years relevant professional experience
Ability to discern accessibility issues from wireframes and story boards
Knowledge of accepted accessibility patterns and best practices
Ability to analyze and employ problem-solving skills to recommend the best solution
Detailed knowledge of a broad range of technologies:
Accessibility on various platforms including Windows and Mac OS
Mobile accessibility on various platforms including Android and IOS
Video and other digital media
PDF and other document standards
Hands On knowledge of Assistive Technology (e.g. screen readers, magnifiers, etc.).
Knowledge of technologies including but not limited to: (Familiarity of these languages are nice to have but not mandatory)
HTML 4 and 5
CSS 2 and 3
JavaScript Libraries
Ability to analyze code for accessibility issues
Ability to guide and coach colleagues and clients in one on one, small group, or large forum environments
Ability to communicate to a wide range of project stakeholders (e.g. Executives, Managers, Designers, Developers, etc.)
Ability to work in both a team environment and as an individual consultants with your assigned client
Strong SEO, UX background either as UX designer, UI designer or similar role.
