Program Specialist V (Special projects and accessibility coordinator)

This position assists with special website projects by organizing, analyzing, and editing website content. Serves as the agency’s accessibility and forms management coordinator. Performs advanced consultative services and technical assistance work. Works under general supervision with some latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.


This position:

-Provides communication support on website content organization and editing.

-Implements strategies to improve Search Engine Optimization.;

-Creates and compiles information for reports, including those related to analytics, and accessibility compliance and exceptions;

-Coordinates the agency’s forms management process;

-Oversees the development and delivery of training on accessibility processes and procedures, including Microsoft Office document and PDF accessibility;

-Researches and communicates best practices for accessibility requirements;

-Prepares documents, including fillable PDFs, so they are compliant with accessibility laws and agency requirements;

-Develops and helps implement corrective action plans for websites, documents, and other electronic and information resources that aren’t in compliance with accessibility requirements;

-Ensures agency policies are aligned with state accessibility requirements; and

-performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

This position requires:

-Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in either communications, journalism, website design, management information systems, project management, or a related field; and

-five years of related experience.


Note: Education and experience relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.


This position requires demonstrated knowledge of:

-Accessibility best practices;

-State and federal web accessibility laws;

-Effective user experience web design techniques;

-Google analytics; and

-Search Engine Optimization best practices.


This position requires demonstrated skill in:

-Using Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;

-Writing and organizing website content;

-Building and editing accessible documents;

-Developing fillable PDF forms;

-Working effectively across multiple program areas; and

-Managing projects.


This position requires the demonstrated ability to:

-Manage and coordinate multiple tasks and priorities to meet deadlines;

-Develop effective partnerships to achieve strategic goals;

-Communicate and work effectively with a range of people with varied skills, knowledge, and backgrounds;

-Present complex information and recommendations in plain language; and

- Work independently and as part of team.

Salary Range: $4000 - $6500
