To help us achieve this ambition we set up a centralised Digital Accessibility Team in 2012 who are responsible for supporting our technology and digital teams to deliver accessibility through effective governance, partnering, training and tools.


The Digital Accessibility Manager will be part of the centralised Digital Accessibility Team and will act as a subject matter expert (SME), working closely with business and technology teams to help them to deliver accessible products for our customers and colleagues.

What will you be doing?

•Working alongside Agile Product and Waterfall Project teams to provide expert, pragmatic and practical guidance to ensure accessibility is fully embedded
•Acting as a control SME for accessibility through the development lifecycle, ensuring effective project governance exists and that product teams are aware
•Managing and delivering a range of accessibility solutions to enable the delivery of accessible products and services
•Taking a pragmatic, risk-based approach to testing and prioritisation of accessibility issues
•Leading on partnering with high impact products across the bank to ensure that the teams involved understand accessibility requirements
•Working with key platforms and websites to create opportunities for accreditation by external experts to build credibility in the accessibility of our digital applications
•Leading on process improvement opportunities within the Digital Accessibility agenda in order to reduce manual interventions and improve ways of working and service
•Using data led insights to create recommendations for new propositions and improvements to existing propositions

What we’re looking for:

•Understanding of accessibility and usability for people with a broad range of disabilities as you’ll be acting as an SME
•Experience of ensuring accessibility solutions are governed and comply to guidelines
•An awareness of assistive technology and understanding of how disabled people using assistive technology on a daily basis

Skills that will help you in the role:

•Experience of web development, including contributing to best practices, guidance and standards
