Contractor’s Role: As an Accessibility Engineer, they will work closely with front end development team(s) and design system team to build accessible digital experiences. They will uphold the WCAG standard, share best practices and support product teams with technical solutions. They will also contribute to building accessible patterns and documentations to support the accessibility business process within the organization.

Qualifications:
- Experience in writing semantic HTML for accessibility compliance
- Familiarity with UI elements and their accessibility requirements
- Experience in accessibility audit on web applications
- Practical understanding of web accessibility principles
- Solid knowledge of WCAG 2.1 techniques and failures
- Familiarity with axe-core or similar accessibility engine
- Hands-on experience working with assistive technologies including screen reader(s) and keyboard
- Experience in building accessibility testing process
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Experience in working with a cross-functional team or large-scale software development lifecycle

Nice to Haves:
- Experience in accessibility testing for mobile application
- Familiarity with React and Javascript
- Web Accessibility Specialist Certification

Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Perform accessibility testing on UI components and experience patterns
- Contribute to accessibility business process in the form of accessibility documentation and best practices
- Exhibit deep understanding of WCAG techniques to help support product teams with best practices
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and product owners to understand the technical need and to improve digital experience for people with disabilities
