Assistant, Student Accessibility Services
Job Description Summary:
To provide districtwide, regional, or campus clerical and administrative support for Student Accessibility Services (SAS).
Job Description:
Description of Duties and Tasks
1) Provides clerical and administrative support in a variety of SAS functions, including student intake, student testing, direct support to students, and to SAS staff through various tasks including, but not limited to data entry, copying, filing, maintaining inventories, and processing documents and paperwork.
2) Provides information at the campus, regional, or district level regarding SAS services. Responds to general inquiries in person, by telephone or via email.
3) Ensures accuracy and completeness of student files by reviewing and updating as necessary.
4) Compiles data and reports pertaining to students with disabilities being served by SAS. Maintains and updates student information database and files as needed.
5) Manages and updates SAS calendars, spreadsheets, and documents.
6) Provides general information on equipment and assistive technology to students. Tracks and maintains loan equipment spreadsheet.
7) Requests and orders alternative format books and other accessible material as needed.
8) May schedule campus-based appointments for students to discuss services or to review services being provided.
9) May oversee the work of hourly employees or work study students.

Knowledge and ability to follow common office policies and procedures.

Knowledge

Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications and Google applications.
Customer service techniques and practices.

Required Work Experience

One year related work experience.

Required Education

Associate degree.


Four years of related work experience may substitute for this education requirement. Applicants who substitute work experience to meet the education requirement must use additional related work experience to meet the years of "Required Work Experience" for this position. Please note that the college reserves the right to amend these terms of substitution at any time.
Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
