The Content Marketer is responsible for generating qualified leads by increasing awareness of the Firefly brand among our nonprofit decision makers and digital marketing professionals using an array of channels including, but not limited to, the Firefly website and blog, social media, email communication, search engine optimization, advertising, and in-person events. You’ll be responsible for inbound marketing strategies to build on the Firefly brand, and online presence. Your role will be to write and create in the embodiment of our fun, cheeky, inclusive, and progressive voice. If you’re scared to write about difficult topics such as Roe v. Wade, this is NOT the position for you.

The Content Marketer will collaborate with the entire Firefly team to communicate the work the team does and the impact it makes to our clients’ missions. The Content Marketer will track growth and metrics for the marketing items created.



This position is responsible for success in the following areas:

Lead Generation through high-quality accessible content combined with inclusive design
Engaging Content Creation and Curation that connects and builds relationships
Marketing Execution with high levels of proofreading and keyword research
Optimization of content for SEO and Google Analytics
Event Logistics
Owning the Marketing Plan/ Editorial Calendar
Strong progressive voice and presence in various channels with mindfulness towards inclusive and digitally accessible content
Management and updating of the company website

Essential Functions

Collaborate to establish and execute on quarterly and annual marketing plans to meet business objectives. Responsible for adjusting strategies based off of data and metrics.
Create, write, and curate amazing content for a variety of marketing channels including Firefly’s website and blog, social platforms, email, webinars, print, and events. Generate ideas to increase customer engagement with a friendly, but progressive voice. Must be able to imbue digital accessibility into all platforms.
Work closely with Firefly team members, designers and developers to effectively communicate Firefly’s inclusive mission, values, and impacts and transfer this communication to the greater community.
Ability to pull, clear, and properly attribute diverse and inclusive imagery for accompany the copy that you will be generating.
Manage timelines and marketing plans that provide everyone in the company insight into marketing efforts and how they will contribute to them
Lead on both online and on-site event coordination, messaging, and logistics
Use appropriate technology (e.g., Hubspot, Google Analytics, Active Campaign, etc.) to carry out marketing objectives and be proactive about recommending the right technology for our needs. Understanding the digital accessibility best-practices and limitations of each technology.
Make recommendations for ways in which Firefly’s marketing efforts can be more effective, efficient, inclusive, accessible, and productive

Work Environment

This job operates in a home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.



Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 30 pounds because of conferences and trade show preparations. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in their local time zone and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.



Travel

This position requires occasional travel, both local and throughout the United States.



Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred. Or copious applicable experience.
3-5 years of experience managing content and production for creative agency or nonprofit organization. An engaging portfolio of social media content is a requirement for application.
Experience using Google Analytics, Google AdWords, SEO and web traffic reporting, and Photoshop/Illustrator/Figma
Experience with inbound marketing in Hubspot, certifications preferred
Proven ability to build high-performing marketing campaigns, measure performance, and adjust to generate additional sales outcomes
Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
