Job Summary

As the Digital Accessibility Coordinator (DAC), you will research, design, test, and implement accessibility standards in concert with usability best practices for MnDOT and MNIT DOT IT systems and software. With intense focus on the delivery of accessibility-compliant applications, web sites, and digital communications (i.e. documents, content, and user experiences), this is a high-visibility role serving as both a business and technical liaison between project stakeholders at MnDOT and MNIT DOT, and MNIT Enterprise.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:

This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of technical application support experience in the following areas:

Strong understanding of technical details of digital accessibility solutions.

Strong understanding of and use of relevant technologies for digital accessibility implementation.

Strong understanding of contextual implications for end users of assistive technology.

Automatic Accessibility testing administration.

Accessibility manual testing.

Good verbal communication skills.

A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related substitutes for two years of experience, OR related Associate’s substitutes for one year.

Preferred Qualifications

Possess or actively pursuing IAAP CPACC/WAS and/or other IAAP certification

Ability to evaluate the accessibility of existing content or objects according to published technical standards and guideline and provide detailed remediation recommendations.

Strong knowledge and understanding of contract and procurement guideline in support of the State Accessibility Guidelines.

Background of writing comprehensive technical requirements, processes, and manuals for IT staff and users.

Strong communicator and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel.
