Role: Accessibility Team Lead
Aspiritech is looking for an Accessibility Specialist to lead accessibility testing projects from onboarding to conclusion. The lead will work closely with testers on projects both big and small for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. The ideal candidate will have experience and possibly certifications in accessibility testing as well as a passion for the work. They will be adept at communicating both internally with teams on project timelines as well as clients on scope, updates and more. They will also have in-depth knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and Section 508.

Responsibilities:
● Lead accessibility projects from onboarding to conclusion
● Monitor project progress to ensure they are staying on time and within budget
● Work closely with testers on projects
● Monitor and review reported accessibility defects and provide remediation advice and guidance on accessibility best practices for client reports
● Communicate with clients regarding the project timelines and updates
● Assist with scoping incoming projects and generating timelines for project completion
● Act as an accessibility subject matter expert and provide ongoing coaching and training to accessibility testers
● Work closely with the internal program manager, accessibility SMEs, and leads to standardize accessibility audit processes and procedures, test plans, and report templates
● Conduct accessibility testing as needed or when necessary
● Attend relevant stand-ups and status meetings
● Possibly supervise other accessibility testers


Requirements:
● 3+ years of experience in accessibility testing
● Experience in a project lead role
● In-depth knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and Section 508
● Extensive web, mobile web, and native app accessibility testing experience
● Comfortable and fluent with screen readers and other assistive technologies across devices and platforms
● Strong written and verbal communication
● Ability to lead more than one project at a time and oversee multiple testers across projects
● Willingness to train and mentor others

Qualifications
● Ability to think from an end-user perspective
● Commitment to meeting high expectations of end users
● Ability to partner with various cross-functional teams for direction and consistency
● Providing leadership when necessary
● Excellent organizational and communication skills
● Familiarity with Responsive Web Design and mobile apps
● Fluency in the software development lifecycle
● Experience working with various tools including WAVE, color contrast analyzers, and automated tools such as axe DevTools
● Experience with creating documents, reports, and bug reports relevant to accessibility test results

Preferred Skills
● Ability to promote and share the importance of accessibility and advocate for its implementation
● Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript to provide remediation advice for accessibility reports.
● Understanding the overlap between user experience and accessibility
● Ability to analyze (Android, iOS, web) code and employ problem-solving skills to recommend best solution
● Knowledge of mobile accessibility best practices on Android and iOS

Salary Range: $55000 - $70000
