Hilton's Commercial Services organization is comprised of over 4,000 team members driving our sales, revenue management, call center, and analytics functions. These functions are the core of Hilton's "commercial engine" and are key to Hilton's ability to drive profitable growth.

What will I be doing?

The Associate, Digital Accessibility will be responsible for working with the technology delivery teams to ensure that Hilton's digital technology can be used by employees and guests with disabilities. Specifically, the Associate will support baking accessibility into custom call center technology development. You will be expected to possess strong tactical knowledge of accessibility standards and practices used to achieve compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Responsibilities to include:

Partner with Experience Design colleagues to ensure we are developing the best user experience for all Hilton hotel guests and Team Members with a disability
Working with agile product teams to build accessibility into all areas of the SDLC (research, design, development, testing)
Evaluating design comps and wireframes and highlighting accessibility considerations
Writing accessibility specific acceptance criteria
Evaluating code to help identify the root cause of accessibility defects
Conducting full accessibility audits for websites and mobile applications
Development and maintenance of accessibility guidelines, processes, checklists, how-to documents, and web-based resources
Working with an enterprise compliance monitoring tool to track and report on accessibility defects

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

Two (2) years of professional experience in Technology with one (1) year of experience in the digital accessibility field
Familiarity with WCAG 2.0 and WCAG 2.1 and an understanding of accessibility and usability principles that impact users with disabilities
Working knowledge of WAI-ARIA and W3C standards-compliant HTML and CS
Hands-on experience with at least one assistive technology device such as screen readers, screen magnification, alternative keyboard inputs, etc.


It would be advantageous for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

Prior web development experience in the IT Industry
Prior experience in the Hospitality industry
Prior experience with Salesforce Lightning
Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as regional and international accessibility laws and mandates
Experience with automated accessibility testing tools such as axe Monitor, aXe DevTools, WAVE, or AMP.
Ability to provide code specific remediation guidance
Basic knowledge of JavaScript
Knowledge of accepted accessibility interaction patterns and standard methodologies
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, JIRA, and Confluence
Travel - up to 10%
