Your job:
The Accessibility Developer is a key leader to maintain and expand Indeed’s ongoing accessibility needs. The Developer will uphold Indeed’s accessibility standards through testing and reporting based on WCAG 2.1, AA standard, and internal program prioritization. Due to the scale that accessibility operates at Indeed, the Developer will need to contribute at a micro and macro level. On this team, you will be working to insure Indeed’s accessibility standard of WCAG 2.1, AA.

You will partner with product teams to understand and remediate accessibility violations, partner with our manual testing and user experience programs, own our internal platform integrations for accessibility, and manage reporting of accessibility scans for executive stakeholders. Most importantly, you will consult with Indeedians on accessibility through one on one consultation, Office Hours sessions, and Slack.

Responsibilities:

Key subject matter expert to consult with teams on accessibility violations.
Micro-level of contribution will be ongoing testing of staging pages and experiences for accessibility.
Macro-level of contribution will be managing program relationships, routing, reporting, and tutorials from the accessibility program. This includes user experience testing management (Fable), quality assurance testing management (Quality Logic), and reporting management (Axe Monitor).
Utilize external DI&B pages as an accessibility example.
Manage Office Hours and Slack messaging for accessibility.
Reporting on the capacity for all quality assurance requests for accessibility: 1:1 review, Quality Logic, and Fable.
Reporting on results in coordination with the accessibility team for Quality Logic, Fable, and Axe Monitor.
Assist teams 1:1 to understand 1:1 reviews and Quality Logic QA results as requested.
Uphold accessibility team company standards and prioritization of violation remediation.
Participate and contribute to program planning and improvements.
Assist teams in recommending accessible automation and help to review automation results as needed.
Assist teams with improving accessible processes as needed.

Who you are:

BS in Computer Science or related area, or relevant work experience
5+ years of experience in software development with at least one of the following languages: Java, C++, Python, C#
2+ years of experience consulting or coding with accessibility expertise
Significant experience with large scale, high-performance systems
Ability to engage in service level mindset for wide range of contributors
Thrives on simplifying complex information
Have a strong sense of ownership in every application built
