Description:

The Digital Experience team is seeking a Web Accessibility Specialist to join our team and help ensure accessibility standards are met across our digital properties. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting accessibility and inclusive design practices throughout the company, conducting accessibility assessments, and providing guidance and training to cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities

Conduct both manual and automated audits across global wealth and asset management digital properties to confirm adherence to accessibility and design guidelines.
Regularly assess website accessibility leveraging accessibility tool to identify and address any barriers.
Work with cross functional teams like Development, Product Owners, Stakeholders, Content Writers, UI & UX Design, & Digital Publishing teams to translate business objectives and requirements into accessible solutions.
Evaluate UI/UX design wireframes for potential accessibility barriers and offer mitigation strategies.
Translate technical web accessibility standards and legislative requirements into specific, actionable requirements for development.
Test and Evaluate accessibility solutions to confirm their efficacy and success.
Work closely with vendor to identify strategic ways to advance accessibility on our Canadian domains.
Work closely with vendor accessibility analysts/testers by providing webpages for a thorough technical accessibility audit and usability testing.
Train teams on creating and maintaining accessible digital experiences and emphasize the importance of compliance.
Develop a digital accessibility roadmap.


Qualifications:

3+ years proven track record of enhancing accessibility by utilizing your expertise in ARIA, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to make improvements and resolve issues.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
Hands-on expertise in conducting accessibility testing on websites to meet WCAG 2.0/2.1 levels A, AA, and AAA success criteria.
Understanding of the various disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, and learning impairments.
Experience with tools such as Site improve to perform automated and guided accessibility testing.
Experience working with vendor to identify opportunities to enhance web accessibility.
Intermediate to expert proficiency in using assistive technologies like NVDA and VoiceOver.
Deep knowledge of accessibility standards, trends, and requirements.


Nice to Have:

IAAP Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (WAS) or an equivalent credential preferred.
