Web Accessibility Test Lead

As the Web Accessibility Testing Lead, you will be part of the Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE). You will lead a team of accessibility testers, providing support to various organizations within the Enterprise. This is an exciting position where you will get a chance to apply your knowledge and skills, while embarking upon a journey that requires continuous learning. You will work alongside several product teams to ensure Prudential’s Digital Assets are in compliance and meet the corporate standard.

In this role, you will be expected to drive the Intake process for new projects coming into the team. You will be required to compile an effort/cost estimate and therefore, it is expected you are familiar with various estimation models. As the Lead, you will help drive projects to ensure we deliver on our commitments. Ensure successful execution and delivery of projects, and continuous improvement of the organization's ability to execute on projects. Demonstrate a strong talent mindset: maintaining, recruiting, and selecting, training, coaching and motivating testing staff. Provide career growth opportunities for employees. Provide thought leadership on improving test efficiency and effectiveness. Evaluate the testing processes, resolve discrepancies, and make improvements for effective testing. Introduce automation to help reduce manual test effort.

This position can be located in any one of our locations: Shelton and Hartford, CT; Fort Washington, PA; Newark or Woodbridge NJ; and Scranton PA.

Distribute work to the on-site/offshore team members
Interact with various Business Units and explain the intake process
Ability to put together effort/cost estimates
Provide project updates to key stakeholders and ensure team is meeting project milestones
In depth knowledge of accessibility standards: WCAG 2.0, WCAG 2.1, ADA Section 508, Aria 1.1
Broad knowledge of accessibility barriers as well as the tools and techniques for overcoming them
Ability to discern accessibility issues from design and code
Knowledge of accepted accessibility patterns and best practices
Experience with scrum and agile methodologies
Ability to provide feedback on design reviews as well as end to end scans of a given website
Ability to analyze and employ problem-solving skills to recommend the best solution
Ability to analyze code for accessibility issues; provide code level recommendations to developers and designers
Ability to guide and coach colleagues and clients in one on one, small group, or large forum environments
Ability to communicate with a wide range of project stakeholders (e.g. Executives, Managers, Designers, Developers, etc.)
Ability to work in a team environment
Detailed knowledge of a broad range of technologies:
Accessibility on various platforms including Windows and MacOS
Mobile accessibility on various platforms including Android and IOS
Video and other digital media
PDF and other digital document standards
Experience with Assistive Technologies (e.g screen readers[JAWS], magnifiers, alternative input, etc.)
Knowledge of technologies including but not limited to:
Web technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Familiarity with modern web application development practices and popular JavaScript frameworks
Deep knowledge of cross-platform and browser compatibility issues
Familiarity with tools for Accessibility such as AMP/Access Assistant, aXe, Comply, etc.
Conduct industry/market research to understand trends in the accessibility space
Knowledge of ALM, JIRA and Confluence is a plus
