The Digital Accessibility Specialist is responsible for supporting the enablement of the Qantas Group’s Access and Inclusion Plan’s goal of ensuring all Qantas Digital Touchpoints across Marketing, the Web, and the App are WCAG Level AA compliant.


They will work closely with Senior Management in leading Group-wide initiatives and strategies for reviewing, testing, monitoring, and reporting on the group’s Accessibility compliance and keeping Senior stakeholders updated on how we are tracking against core KPIs and Legal legislation in this space.


The role will also require collaboration with teams across different business units, running training and workshops and advocating for Digital accessibility for the business.


You’ll have –

years of experience in Digital Accessibility.
Qualifications or 2-3 years of work experience in a similar role within an enterprise organisation.
knowledge of the latest WCAG specifications, including WAI-ARIA, Mobile Accessibility and Cognitive Disabilities Guidelines and Inclusive design principles.
understanding of Web and App digital accessibility best practices and testing frameworks through Automation, Emulators and Manual Testing methodologies. Experience with user testing is desirable.
and knowledge across different coding frameworks such as HTML/CSS/JS, React, Swift etc., enabling you to advise engineers on correct WAI-ARIA and semantic markup across multiple platforms (Desktop, iOS, and Android).
with enterprise business and design tools like Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
time management skills and ability to work independently in an Agile framework.
strong work ethic and a genuine team player.
training teams and running workshops on Accessibility to different stakeholders and role types is desirable.
