What is the Workforce Skills & Project Aria?

Earlier this year, Pearson created a new ‘Workforce Skills’ division which was established to meet a significant and growing need for skills in the rapidly evolving Workforce market. Pearson has a relatively small presence in the Workforce market today but has a powerful set of assets and capabilities to be applied to the right opportunities.

This design position would work on "Project Aria" a new online suite of project-based experiential learning courses for the most in-demand future-critical skills, slated to launch in Q4 of 2022. You can learn more about the product at www.pearson.com/aria

Requirements:

This role is for a Product Designer, with a few years working experience in a product/web development environment, to work within cross-functional teams supporting the product roadmap whilst making design decisions centred around the needs of our users.

Key Accountabilities:

Advocate for design thinking and UX practices at every stage of product development
Produce engaging and effective solutions for the user
Closely collaborate with the product development teams in an Agile process
Generating artefacts to meet the scope of product requirements and ensuring that the user experience properly integrates with desired Learning Design principles.
Produces designs that can be easily developed within the platform constraints, working together with Engineering teams to ensure development meets UX and Product expectations
Create user flows, wireframes, UI and other UX artefacts as appropriate
Maintain high standards of design quality as well as scalability in design solutions across platforms
Interpreting research data and embedding these inputs into product user interface designs directly with moderate guidance.
Role-specific attributes

Experience designing user flows and wireframes, using Figma, Miro or similar tools
Experience designing high-fidelity mock-ups and prototypes, for mobile as well as web, following best practices and addressing various UI states and scenarios
Working knowledge of Design Systems
Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 accessibility best practices
Proficient in presenting the rationale for your work grounded in data/insights as well as business objectives
Confident working with engineering teams and discussing technical considerations for a variety of devices
Experience in facilitating workshops and ideation sessions with stakeholders is beneficial
A collaborative and flexible attitude to work in multiple team environment
This role is for someone who:

Has atleast few years of experience within a product/web development environment
Has a strong understanding of either design thinking, double diamond or Lean UX process
Has a keen interest in business and user problems
Is lead with design
Is a team player who enjoys collaborating in a multi-functional team across time zones
Is comfortable with the challenge of product constraints, business ambiguity and design pushback
Is the champion for the customer and user needs
