The Accessibility Document Specialist is responsible for providing Section 508 compliant document remediation support to clients with an emphasis on PDF, MS Suite, and Adobe InDesign remediation. The Specialist will convert documents to ensure accessibility to people with disabilities in compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA), PDF/UA guidelines, and company standards. Ideal candidates enjoy learning new technologies, working collaboratively, and finding solutions to unique technical challenges.

Responsible for providing Section 508 compliant document remediation support to clients with an emphasis on PDF, MS Suite, and Adobe InDesign remediation.

The Specialist will convert and format documents to be readable by assistive technology devices.

Perform Section 508 document evaluation and remediation

Apply appropriate tags to documents for accessibility

Maintains visual attributes of the original documents after remediation

Create accessible PDF forms and tables

Will evaluate documents for color contrast

Write alternative text

Use the appropriate tools like NVDA and others to check documents for compliance.

Work within assigned deadlines

Will train internal clientele on the process of making compliant documents using the MS Office Suite, Adobe PDF, and other software.

Use Workfront or other project management software to record and organize work.

Maintain an archive of completed work.

Salary Range: $35000 - $50000
