Octo Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our growing team in support of a federal customer's enterprise security initiatives and strategy.

As a Quality Engineer, you will:

Develop inspection methods to analyze product quality
Improve product quality by making recommendations for change
Ensure products adhere to company and industry quality standards
Brainstorm ideas to create solutions for both identified current and potential future problems
Formulate a strategic plan to increase business productivity and enhance processes
Document results and findings after inspections are carried out
Implement a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process
Develop and implement quality standards and processes to meet them
Develop corrective actions, solutions, and improvements
Review codes, specifications, and processes in accordance with government laws
Monitor and analyze quality performance
Develop and implement quality control systems
Ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with regulations
Investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues
Collaborate with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements
Remediate all document, video, audio, and multimedia submissions in coordination with designers in accordance with WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and all government accessibility regulations and laws
Audit current systems, internal processes, and customer-facing assets to find accessibility issues, and create prioritization models and project plans for addressing
Coordinate with Stakeholders and government leadership to ensure compliance of Section 508 requirements throughout the design process
Conduct training with Stakeholders on product creation techniques and required standards
Maintain, update, and enhance all team documentation pertaining to Section 508
Manage communication with third-party vendors
Track and report all issues and barriers encountered for developing and implementing resolutions
Test and implement new tools for use in the enhancement, productivity, and quality of tasks
Create and deliver presentations and/or trainings for Section 508, accessibility awareness, and quality assurance of the production of accessible products
Collaborate with leadership in the creation, production, and management of Section 508 materials, training resources, supporting documentation, and procedural instructions
Assist and collaborate with all aspects of the IT Team in performing various tasks for resolution of tickets, troubleshooting, network change testing, endpoint security monitoring/scans, creation of trainings, and implementation of new hardware/software and IT equipment in compliance with accessibility standards and laws
Train and guide onboarding team personnel on compliance awareness and best practices
Attend continuous webinars and events to keep up with everchanging and emerging technology and techniques in support of quality assurance of accessible product creation

Program Mission…

The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is a joint, integrated Combat Support Agency that enables the Army, Navy, and Air Force medical services to provide a medically ready force and ready medical force to Combatant Commands in both peacetime and wartime. The DHA supports the delivery of integrated, affordable, and high-quality health services to Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries and is responsible for driving greater integration of clinical and business processes across the MHS.

Program Overview:

The DHA Research and Engineering Directorate (R&E) delivers value to our beneficiary communities by shepherding innovative materiel and knowledge solutions from concept through final product development and into the hands of providers and Warfighters. We are an enabler for innovative improvements in patient outcomes and the delivery of care.

Requirements:

Extensive knowledge and experience of Section 508, compliance testing, and document, presentation, multi-media, and web remediation techniques in accordance with WCAG 2.1
Experience with accessibility compliance testing tools and assistive technologies, such as ANDI, CCA, Accessibility Insights, Allyant, JAWS, NVDA, Narrator, or similar
Experience working in a federal environment
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud applications
Strong understanding of Windows and Apple technology
Experience with SharePoint/LaunchPad, Sitecore, and Drupal
Experience with Microsoft Teams and Adobe Connect
Understanding and familiarity of HTML, CSS, JSON
Experience with mobile device and asset management
Understanding of security concepts, firewalls, remote desktop services, authentication, MAC filtering, Symantec, McAfee, BitLocker, PowerShell, Command Prompt
Experience with ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar ticketing system
Knowledge of IT process improvement and various IT Quality Assurance standards

Years of Experience: 5+ years of experience or more

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or 5 years’ additional experience in lieu of a degree)

Certifications:

A Computing Environment certification at IAT Level II is required (such as A+, Network+, CCNA)
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
DHS Trusted Tester certification
Security+
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
CASP+

Location: Silver Spring, MD; Full-time Remote Telework Available
