About the Position

The ITS Accessibility Production Analyst (ITAPA) position is a technical and functional resource responsible for the production of course materials and textbooks in accessible format as an accommodation service. In collaboration with the ITS Accessibility & Business Operation Specialist, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining production timelines and daily operations, training student assistant production staff, and providing virtual or on-site support to faculty/students. This position will provide front-line support to the campus ICT process in Service Now. The responsibilities of this position will align with and support campus ATI priorities for instructional materials and procurement.

The ITS Accessibility Production Analyst will have a background in customer service and Assistive Technology. This position should have a demonstrated working knowledge of MS Office applications with experience in accessible/alternate formatting and Assistive Technology software(s) preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily activities & functions of ITS Accessibility responsibilities

Coordinate processing of student accommodation requests for alternative and accessible formats
Process physical and electronic course materials & textbooks into accessible format(s)
Complete tasks requested via electronic requests; verify adoption, secure e-text, evaluate against production standards for assignment
Collaborate with other Universities, Publishers and E-book libraries in securing e-text files
Convert physical and image-based text using OCR software(s)
Coordinate daily activities and tasks of student assistant(s)
Validate accuracy of conversions using Assistive Technologies
Interface between faculty, campus Duplication Services and the Pioneer Bookstore for textbook and course reader adoptions
Provide assistive technology operational support

Assist with assignment and delegation of daily administrative and production tasks
Monitor ICT triage process in Service Now and escalate to other staff as needed
Review ICT request content & facilitate communication with campus requesters and vendors as needed
Lead efforts for weekly maintenance of CSU AIMHub database
Provide virtual and front-line support to students, faculty, and staff to ensure timely access to accessible materials
Maintain and update OCR softwares and Assistive Technologies on production systems
Develop and maintain student user guides
Develop and maintain production training materials and conduct training sessions as needed to support staff
Develop and maintain data reports and process guides relating to ATI reporting responsibilities in the areas of Instructional Materials and Procurement
Coordinate and help support accessibility applications such as Symplicity
Required Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse student, faculty, staff, and community
Experience in higher education
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Proficient in Google Applications (Calendar, Drive, Mail, etc.)
Ability to multitask and prioritize with competing priorities
Proficient computer, keyboard, and typing skills
Must be organized and detail-oriented
Strong written communication skills with a solid foundation in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Strong verbal communication skills
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of related education and relevant work experience
Familiarity with technology used to produce accessible formats
Preferred Skills and Knowledge

Equivalent to two years of experience working in with Assistive Technology and producing Accessible Media
Experience with Assistive Technology software and hardware:
i.e., High speed scanners, braille printer, screen readers, etc.
Familiarity with technology used to produce accessible formats
i.e., Braille embossers, Tactile image makers, text to speech software(s), etc.
Knowledge of Optical Character Recognition software and scanning of printed materials
Familiarity with accessible/alternate formats
i.e., electronic text (e-text), large print, audio, braille, etc.
Previous experience in transcription of electronic media to accessible formats
Condition(s) of Employment

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including LiveScan, as appropriate), that may include, but is not limited to: criminal records check, verification of academic credentials, licenses, certificates, credit history, professional references and/or verification of work history is required for employment. Cal State East Bay will issue a conditional offer of employment to the selected candidate, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Unsatisfactory results may also affect the continued employment of current Cal State East Bay employees who were conditionally offered the position.

All background checks are conducted through the university's third party vendor, Accurate. LiveScan is conducted through the University Police Department.
