Accessible HTML Specialist

We are looking for an Accessible HTML Specialist who can convert PDF files into fully structured, standards-compliant, and accessible HTML outputs. The candidate should have strong knowledge of accessibility guidelines, semantic HTML, document structure, reading order, alt text handling, tables, lists, headings, forms, and overall usability for assistive technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Convert PDF documents into clean and well-structured accessible HTML
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards such as WCAG, Section 508, and best practices for screen readers
- Maintain proper semantic structure, including headings, lists, tables, links, landmarks, and navigation
- Add or validate alternative text for images and meaningful labels where required
- Ensure correct reading order and keyboard accessibility
- Preserve content accuracy, formatting logic, and document integrity during conversion
- Perform quality checks using accessibility testing tools and manual review
- Coordinate with QA or project teams to resolve accessibility-related issues

Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and semantic markup
- Good understanding of PDF structure and accessible document conversion workflows
- Familiarity with WCAG 2.1/2.2, Section 508, and ARIA practices
- Experience working with screen readers and accessibility validation tools
- Ability to handle tables, forms, footnotes, images, and complex layouts in HTML
- Strong attention to detail and quality

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in accessible publishing, eLearning, educational content, or document remediation
- Experience with accessibility tools such as Axe, WAVE, NVDA, JAWS, or similar
- Understanding of EPUB, XML, or digital publishing workflows is an added advantage
