As Director, you will work with a remote-first approach, provided you reside in one of the approved states. Enjoy the flexibility of telecommuting while engaging with campus partners periodically to ensure the effectiveness of our accessibility programs.
About the Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Compliance, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the university's ADA and Section 504 compliance efforts while fostering an accessible environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your leadership will guide the development of compliance plans, projects, and policies, along with serving as the liaison for internal and external stakeholders.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Accessibility Coordination: Serve as the ADA/Section 504 Coordinator, ensuring institutional compliance with federal and state laws.
* Lead initiatives to improve the accessibility of programs, services, and facilities while promoting a culture of inclusivity.
* Collaborate with departments to address accessibility issues, provide guidance on accommodations, and advance universal design principles.
* Champion the university's digital accessibility strategy, ensuring compliance with WCAG, Section 508, and other relevant standards.
* Conduct assessments of physical and digital environments, tracking progress towards compliance goals.
* Maintain centralized records of accessibility-related complaints and ensure prompt resolutions.
* Facilitate training and outreach efforts on disability inclusion and legal obligations.
* Stay current with accessibility standards and relevant case law impacting higher education.
* Offer consultative services across departments to enhance accessibility outcomes.
Compliance Program Support:
* Lead the evaluation and enhancement of practices related to ADA compliance and institutional equity.
* Monitor compliance initiatives and assist in data reporting and risk assessments.
* Develop metrics to track key trends in accommodations and accessibility initiatives and provide updates to leadership.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Act as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator, assisting in investigations and related processes when necessary.
* Collaborate on policy reviews to ensure cohesive practices across accessibility and nondiscrimination frameworks.
What We Are Seeking:
* Over 4 years of experience in ADA/504 compliance in higher education or a related field.
* Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area.
* Knowledge of digital accessibility tools and standards.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse populations.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Attention to detail combined with an understanding of broader organizational contexts.
* Critical thinking skills and a proactive approach to challenges.

Compensation:
The annual salary range for this role is $85,563 to $136,928, with the target hiring range set between $94,548 and $127,918, depending on qualifications and experience.
