**About The Team**
The Access, Wellbeing & Equity (AWE) directorate are a passionate group of professionals dedicated to supporting student wellbeing, accessibility and inclusion. The Access & Inclusion team sits within this directorate and plays a key role in implementing the University’s Student Wellbeing Strategy and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy, providing services to students and staff across all campuses, including trans-educational programs.
**Your New Role!**
The Learning Accessibility Consultant plays a key role in advancing inclusive education across the University. Based within Access and Inclusion, this position supports students with disabilities and health conditions by promoting accessible learning environments and design.
Your Key responsibilities will include –
* Provide expert guidance on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies to enhance accessibility and student success across face-to-face and online delivery.
* Collaborate with academic and professional staff to foster inclusive teaching practices, accessible curriculum design and student-focused learning environments.
* Use data and specialist knowledge to identify priority areas and develop targeted support models for high-need cohorts.
* Provide individualized support through recommendation of appropriate and evidence based, reasonable adjustments for students with disability or health conditions whose needs are not met through the UDL initiatives in place.
* Deliver training on accessible technologies, disability and UDL.

This Fixed Term (14 Months) | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $97K – $128K (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

**What you’ll bring to the role:**
* Relevant degree in Education, Disability, or Allied Health, with 2+ years’ experience in student support or accessible learning.
* Strong understanding of disability, medical and mental health conditions in educational contexts.
* Practical experience applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.
* Proficiency with educational technologies across PC and Mac, including accessibility tools.
**Please note, the successful candidate will be required to have a valid working with children check or the ability to register for one in accordance with the University's Criminal Record Screening Procedure and Employee Background Checks Procedure.**
