Digital Accessibility & User Experience Director

Role:
The Director (Digital Accessibility & User Experience) serves as a client-facing specialist engaging with CIOs, compliance leaders, procurement and legal teams, and product owners. The role involves providing advisory services on digital accessibility risk, standards, governance, and roadmap strategy for learning products and platforms.

Clients include Education and Workforce learning companies, publishers, edtech companies, and Educational and Training certification Institutions catering from Kindergarten to Adult Learners.

Responsibilities:
- Externally: Help client organizations with compliance risk reviews; define digital accessibility and user experience strategy; design operational plans including gap identification, risk measurement, roadmaps, resourcing, governance, and measurement. This includes advisory/consulting services with billable hours when engaging clients.
- Internally: Support sales in winning new business and collaborate with delivery teams for client success.
- Industry Presence: Represent Magic in industry events and consortiums, develop and deliver thought leadership relevant in the digital learning sector, and innovate for market differentiation.

Experience:
- Deep understanding of digital accessibility standards, guidelines, and compliance requirements in education and learning; certification ICAAP is preferred. Strong working knowledge of accessibility program components (audits, remediation, validation, governance, sustainment) and practical application of WCAG. Ability to connect industry trends, compliance requirements, and risks.
- Experience in guiding and advising on User Experience for learning products and platforms.
- Ability to capture and respond to client requirements with consulting/solution-based approaches, presentation skills, proposal writing, and pitching.
- Hands-on experience with digital tools, AI, project/task management tools, and CRM.
- Understanding of consulting and outsourcing business models, contracting, project management, budgeting, and billing for advisory services.
- Strong relationship-building skills with senior CXO-level leadership and a Rolodex in the education sector.
