About the Role
--------------
TorranceLearning is leading the design and development of a large, self-paced elearning curriculum for a critical Federal agency initiative.We’re seeking several experienced elearning course developers to join a cross-functional team of instructional designers, visual designers, and learning technology specialists.
This is a high-volume, iterative build environment. You’ll primarily implement modules from build-ready storyboards, working through multiple rounds of review and revision while ensuring instructional intent, interaction behavior, accessibility, and technical details are reflected accurately in the final build.
**Note on tools:**Development may occur in dominKnow Flow and/or another modern authoring platform. You must be comfortable learning new tool s quickly and deliver builds that meet established quality and technical standards,regardless of the platform.

* **P ay rate:**$55–65/hour (1099)
* **Weekly hours:**~15–35 hours depending on project phase and client response (hours are not guaranteed)
* **Location:**Remote; all work must be completed within the United States
* **Collaboration hours:**This project runs on Eastern Time business hours and requires daytime availability for real-time collaboration
* **Travel is not required****;**any client-required travel would be paid.
* You must be able to secure P ublic Trust clearance prior to contract start.
How Delivery Works
------------------
Work is delivered in waves using LLAMA® iterations: Skeleton → Alpha → Beta → Final.
* **Wave model:**You’ll support Skeleton + Alpha design for one new module per wave,and lead Beta/Final development updates and reviews for prior modules.You can expect to work in parallel on several waves.
* **Client reviews:**Formal review cycles occur at key phases; feedback may come from multiple reviewer groups.
What You’ll Do
--------------
### Build & Implementation (Core Output)
* Build responsive elearning modules from build-ready storyboards (Word template), applying established build standards and templates consistently.
* Implement layouts, interactions, branching logic, states, assessments, and completion rules as appropriate to the instructional need.
* Make sound building decisions within template, tool, and accessibility constraints to ensure modules function reliably across devices.
* Implement approved updates and revisions from internal and client reviews, ensuring changes do not introduce errors or inconsistencies.
### Accessibility (Section 508 / WCAG)
* Build modules to meet Section 508/WCAG 2.1 AA requirements and inclusive design expectations.
* Check accessibility throughout development and support completion of the project’s accessibility checklist.
* Partner with quality assurance (QA)and accessibility specialist s to resolve issues efficiently and reduce late-cycle rework.
### xAPI/ SCORM Packaging
* Implement xAPI tracking as specified, with support from the xAPI specialist team.
* Produce SCORM exports/packages as required for delivery.
### Media & Visual Implementation
* Create simple visuals as needed (e.g., illustrations, icons, layouts), pull from approved asset libraries, and follow established visual standards.
* Collaborate with visual designers (VD) on custom or complex assets.
* Ensure media is optimized for accessibility and performance across device sizes, including mobile.
### Collaboration, Reviews, and Quality
* Collaborate with ID to assess the feasibility of proposed interactions, identify tool or template constraints early, and recommend adjustments that preserve instructional intent.
* Participate in QA reviews of your own and peers’ work; provide constructive feedback and follow standards consistently.
* Maintain clean build hygiene, including versioning, naming conventions, and organized source files in shared repositories.
Tools & Working Environment

Microsoft Teams, Slack (collaboration); SharePoint (files and version control); spreadsheets and dominKnow review tool (reviews); elearning development platform: dominKnow Flow (primarily) or other modern authoring tools, depending on module needs or project phase;ClickU p (project management software).
What You Bring
--------------
### Experience
* 3+ years professional elearning development for adults in a workplace setting.
* Experience building elearning with a mobile-first or responsive mindset, including consideration for layout, interaction behavior, and usability across devices.
* Demonstrated ability to build e learning that meets Section 508/WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements.
* Familiarity with SCORM packaging and xAPI concepts; comfort implementing tracking with specialist support.
* Experience working within established templates, standards, and shared build patterns as part of the team-based development effort.
* Experience working in an iterative/Agile instructional design environment (LLAMA® familiarity is a plus).
### Skills
* Experience using elearning authoring tools to build modules that include responsive layouts, varied and complex interactions, and assessments (e.g.,dominKnow Flow, Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate).
* Ability to efficiently and accurately translate a complete storyboard into a fully functional elearning module.
* Strong attention to detail and a QA mindset (including proofreading, interaction testing,and consistency checks).
* Ability to troubleshoot build issues and resolve technical problems independently or in collaboration with the team.
* Solid visual layout and implementation skills, including consistent application of templates and visual standards.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative working style.
* Strong self-management, prioritization, and reliability in a high-volume production environment.
* Working knowledge of accessibility best practices (e.g., Section 508/WCAG 2.1 AA) as applied to elearning development
