**Full Time - Web Content Specialist**

The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time - Web Content Specialist at our Bryan Campus.**Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:**

**Job Summary**

The Web Content Specialist supports the Blinn College District’s digital presence by managing, updating, and optimizing website content to ensure accuracy, accessibility, brand consistency, and search visibility. Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, this position serves as a primary point of contact for internal web update requests and plays a key role in maintaining Blinn’s websites in alignment with institutional goals, accessibility standards, SEO best practices, and web governance policies.

The Web Content Specialist collaborates closely with Marketing and Communications staff, campus departments, and other stakeholders to ensure timely updates and a positive user experience for prospective students, current students, employees, and community members.
**Principal Accountabilities**

1. Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager and marketing team to create, edit, and maintain engaging, accurate, and accessible web content that complies with Blinn’s branding, style, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/Section 508).
2. Partner with College stakeholders to ensure content meets user needs, aligns with institutional priorities, and supports student recruitment, enrollment, and retention goals.
3. Write, edit, and optimize content for web using best practices in plain language, readability, SEO, and content strategy.
4. Proactively monitor website content to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and relevance; regularly audit pages to identify and correct broken links, outdated information, and formatting inconsistencies.
5. Collaborate with marketing team members to incorporate multimedia elements (images, video, graphics, etc.) that enhance storytelling, accessibility, and user experience.
6. Maintain consistency in look, feel, navigation, and structure across all web pages by applying established design, layout, and formatting guidelines.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve basic website issues and coordinate with IT or vendors when advanced technical support is required.
8. Use web analytics tools to monitor traffic, track performance, identify user behavior trends, and recommend improvements.
9. Conduct periodic site-wide reviews and assist the Digital Marketing Manager in coordinating annual web content maintenance schedules.
10. Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in higher education web management, accessibility, and digital marketing.
11. Provide training, guidance, and support to College stakeholders on web content requests, accessibility requirements, and Blinn’s editorial standards.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications/Required Degree, License or Certifications**

1. Demonstrated experience in web content creation, editing, and management (preferably in higher education or a large organization)
2. Associate degree or applicable industry certifications

**Minimum Competencies**

1. Advanced knowledge and/or experience with HTML, CSS, web analytics and content management systems.
2. Knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG/Section 508) and ability to apply them to digital content.
3. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Ability to apply best practices in search engine optimization (SEO) and web content strategy.
5. Proficiency with basic web troubleshooting and resolving formatting or navigation errors.
6. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-service orientation.

**Preferred Qualifications**
Bachelor’s degree in web development, web design, digital marketing, or a related field.

**Preferred Competencies**

1. Familiarity with Hannon Hill Cascade
2. Experience working in a higher education environment, particularly a community college setting.
3. Advanced knowledge of accessibility compliance tools and practices, including Siteimprove or similar platforms.
4. Experience with web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Tag Manager, or similar tools.
5. Skill in integrating multimedia (photos, videos, graphics) into web content for enhanced engagement.

7. Experience training or supporting stakeholders in web content creation and accessibility.

This is a 12 month, benefits-eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Yearly leave time includes:

96 hours vacation
