We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Website Designer/Project Manager to lead the creative and technical development of innovative websites. You will oversee all phases of website projects—from conceptualization and design to implementation and maintenance—while ensuring seamless collaboration across teams. - Leads and coordinates web development and web design work in support of the Web Team, which drafts and posts all external content on website and manages internal content on the Employee Portal.
- Provides technical leadership to a small team performing web development services, including assigning work, reviewing outputs, and resolving technical issues.
- Responds to publishing and editing requests from staff by creating webpages, news and event items, official funding and guidance documents, and other content using the Drupal Content Management System (CMS), ServiceNow Employee Center, and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Applies expert-level HTML, CSS, and JavaScript knowledge to support implementation decisions, troubleshoot issues, and improve web pages and page components as needed.
- Creates clear, compelling webpage layouts that conform to web design best practices, WCAG 2.0/Section 508 requirements, and federal plain language requirements.
- Formats and uploads PDFs, images, and other files to the website.
- Oversees and monitors the NSF Web Team ticketing workflow (built in ServiceNow and Microsoft Lists) to ensure requests are prioritized, annotated, and completed; tracks status and supports timely completion.
- Provides timely, high-quality customer support to staff by handling requests and inquiries, resolving issues, and documenting work in the ticketing system.
- Advises staff on web design best practices, including consistent and clear layouts, Section 508 compliance, and the use of visuals to enhance engagement and understanding.
- Participates in special projects and performs other related duties as assigned by staff.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college in computer science or other closely related discipline.
- Five years of professional expert level experience in web development and web design services.
- Expert level experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Expert level experience leading small teams to perform web development services.
